VISIT TO SIERRA MAESTRA DISTRICT – DURANONA METHODIST CHURCH
The MUIP mission team just returned from a fruitful and awe-inspiring trip to Cuba. One of the districts that our team visited was Sierra Maestra to assess the damages caused by the recent earthquake on the different churches in that district.
There are many stories of great courage and endurance related by the DSs and pastors in the affected areas in Sierra Maestra with testimonies of the Lord’s faithfulness, in the midst of the most challenging circumstances!
Pastora Darielis is the young pastor of that church that, in the few years she was appointed there, has given evidence of great dedication in equipping the members in discipleship and evangelism. She and her family have been able to reach many in the community with the great help of their sister church in Tampa, Wesley MUMC and expressed much gratitude for the assistance and fellowship received from Wesley’s brothers and sisters.
Duranona’s pastoral home walls and other parts that were affected can be repaired and the temple needs much work. Although the team left some donations for the home repair an additional $1,000- $1,500 would be needed for the rest of the work in the temple.
Bishop Pereira (Methodist Church in Cuba) sends his gratitude to all of you who so passionately and selflessly work to assist our sister church partnerships in their time of need.
Merry Christmas to all and may the Lord continue to bless this ministry that is impacting so many lives now and for eternity!
