HOLY WEEK at DURONA CHURCH

HOLY WEEK @ DURAÑONA CHURCH- Our Sister Chrch in Cuba

1- Church members walk the streets with Luis Felipe carrying the cross.
Pastora says he fainted after “crucifixion” scene.
This street religious expression can only be done in Cuba in remote places,
like Durañona. It is banned in cities. Everyone followed them:
friends, unbelievers, drunks, prostitutes, street vendors.
Someone who had heard of the procession was allowed to leave a shelter
3 miles away and come to the church to ask for Christian tracks and medicines
for his illness. They were able to give him some tracks
and medicines.
He’d been away from the Lord for 7 years
and he asked for prayer. Pastora’s husband prayed over him for salvation.

2- The procession representing the “Via Dolorosa”
had the different times Jesus fell on the way.

3- Crucifixion

4- Special dance

5- Pastora preached “Jesus’ 7 last words” sermon with her new eyeglasses….
NOW she can see the words in her Bible clearly.
She expresses many, many thanks to Wesley for this “miracle”.

VISIT FROM LYNN BORDELON,
ministry Coordinator, to Durañona, bearing gifts from Wesley to Pastora and the church. HALLELUJAH! What better way to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection
than to share the fellowship of their suffering and joys!!!
1- Lynn and friend visit with Pastora, husband and Sara.
2- As Pastora and her family unpacked what was sent with Lynn,
tears rolled down their cheeks. Her email message is full of thanks
and gratitude for the love they feel has been poured out on them by Wesley’s pastor
and brothers and sisters.
3- She looks so pretty with her new eyeglasses
4- As a celebration of the 25 th anniversary of the Cuba ministry,
a “Renewal of Covenant” statement, was signed, as a commitment of
our sister church relationship, by both Pastor Ernie and Pastora,
representing our churches.
Our Durañona’s brothers and sisters are praying for
us @ Wesley and for a great revival!

HAPPY RESURRECTION SUNDAY!!!
