March 16, 2020 To: The People of the Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church From: Kenneth H. Carter, Jr. Resident Bishop Subject: Guidance for Ministry in this Season
In order to be in partnership with others and to prevent the suffering that is upon us through the Coronavirus (COVID-19), I offer the following guidance to our clergy and churches: We recommend no public worship through the month of March. This is in response to the Centers for Disease Control’s recommendation of the postponement or cancellation of gatherings of more than fifty persons. Our motivation is grounded in the call of Jesus to love our neighbor (Matthew 22).

We at Wesley UMC Tampa care about your well-being and want to help you while you're at home due to public health concerns. Instead of a public worship service, our plan is to livestream a virtual Sunday Worship Service on Wesley's Facebook page on March 22, 2020 at 11:00 AM Eastern Time. There will be only one service on this Sunday. You are invited to participate in this event and we hope you join us this Sunday in our first ever virtual worship service. All you have to do is 'like' and 'follow' our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/wesleymemorialtampa/.

In everything, we trust in the Lord and even more during this season as He directs each one of us according to His perfect will. We will make every possible effort to keep you informed and up-to-date with new developments that affect us as a church. In His Service, Jose Benson 813 769-9157 Church Communications
