THE ORDINARY IS EXTRAORDINARY

As we draw nearer to the birthday of our Savior, I think of Mary and Joseph away from home and friends at such a time as this. Yet they were never alone. God was doing the leading and they were doing the ordinary things like all the others. Like showing up for the census. Yet in this situation there was nothing ordinary about it. He sent an angel to tell the shepherds. He put a star to guide the wise men. This was His Son and all the preparations were made in an ordinary way to spread the word. But there was nothing about this birth that was ordinary. God's hand was evident in all the details; when to stay and when to go for safety. Do you believe that He still wants to guide us as well? He does and that should bring us comfort in the uncomfortable times.
In Luke we have the picture of events after the angel of the Lord visited the shepherds. "And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men." (Luke 2:13-14 NKJV). What a night! A visit of an angel to shepherds and soon after that the choir began to praise God. Bet the sheep had never had such a bedtime story. A story that still rocks the world. Guess you could call this a 'prayer and praise service.'
Dear Lord, help us to remember that just as You have appeared in the ordinary things of life, that You still care about us. Thank You for this extraordinary event that changed a world. Peace within for those who believe. Make us reliable witnesses for You today in all we say and do. And to God be the glory. For Jesus' sake, amen.
In His service, Fran (Mobley)

MAY YOU HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAY!

Time and life places in your path those persons who are so special that, even though they don’t have your own blood, they are present in your life, just as family. They make you feel you are not alone with their good wishes and consistent concern.

Cold Night Shelter

Cold Night Shelter Pic
Needed! - Wesley Volunteers to staff the cold weather shelter at Jackson Springs Park. The shelter opens when the weather forecast predicts the temperature to go below 40 degrees. We are looking for volunteers that can do a 3 to 4 hour shift when the shelter is open. We want to have many volunteers so no one has to do a shift more than one night in a row. Please be a part of this important ministry to serve the homeless in our neighborhood.

Also, we need to start gathering supplies. We always need gloves, socks, and scarves.
For more information or to volunteer, please contact Nancy Blunk at 813 -966 -1496
Pack a Sack
This Christmas season, we are so grateful for your donations and prayers for our growing and necessary ministry. Town n’ Country and Dickenson are dealing with so much growth, dire family situations and lack of teachers and admin help, so let’s pray for these schools, the staff and of course our Pack a Sack families. We are doing our best to reach them and help, and we simply could not do any of this without your help and support. We are packed through December, and will plan to pack again the first week of January to prepare for our January 10th delivery. • Jif to go peanut butter cups – 1.5 oz.
