a note from Pastor Ernie
Hello Wesley,
We have been learning some powerful lessons about how Jesus reveals himself to believers and non-believers. Last week we listened to Jesus explain about his supernatural purpose to those who would soon be believers. As they sat around the Last Supper in the upper room, Jesus talks with men who really do not understand what he is saying. They make their confusion clear by their questions, and the
dinner will end with confusion and them all singing together as they walk toward Gethsemane. Song is a source of unity especially in confusion.

I like to think one of the disciples initiated the singing because they all knew Jesus needed their support. I wonder which of them had the best singing voice, maybe James, and did they all know that and just not start singing until James started? Or did they always wait for Jesus to start singing first? Over my lifetime, I have had music serve as the most powerful sound of unity in existence and the strongest voice of division in the church. I remember 1990, the first time I wanted to have drums in the
sanctuary. Whoa! I think music is still the same way, it is so emotional.

I want to tell you about that Easter Sunday in 1990. We had a guitar and drums in church as we launched a new service on Saturday evening. After service, a man said to me something I have not forgotten. “If you buy an economy airline ticket and are bumped to first-class, you consider it an exciting privilege and seize the moment. I can tell you feel like this was a first-class ride. I have been riding first-class all my life, please don’t take that away from me.” I think there was wisdom in his words that still applies today, maybe more so. There should be room for music to be first class for all of us.

I love being your pastor,
Ernie

Pack a Snack 4 Kids logo
It’s hard to believe that we are already winding down on this school year…We continue to work hard to serve the community and these kids. We are now at 234 children per week. While we are thrilled to be able to help so many kids in need, it does require more resources; mainly food and monetary donations.

We hope you will consider helping us reach this year’s finish line. You can pick up one or more of the items listed below or simply note a portion of your giving to PAS…. either way, we are eternally grateful for your continued prayers and support of our ministry.
 Juice boxes or pouches
 Applesauce or fruit cups – small individual cups
 Nature’s bakery fig bars
 Peanut Butter Crackers

You can bring the items to the church during normal business hours or of course bring with you on Sunday to church. If needed, you can reach out to Jamie directly to arrange a pick up at 813-967-3800 or [email protected]

We couldn’t do this without each and every one of you and we are grateful
for your continued support. Please be in prayer for all the Pack-a-Sack children and in prayer for our current needs.
The Ruth Circle is now collecting diapers, wipes, toiletries and educational supplies for their ministry to Children's Home Network. If you are able to help, please leave your donation in a marked container in the copy room. wonderful addition. Simply call or email the church office and let Terri Davis know the date and any particular colors wanted. best of all, given to the Glory of God.

A Prayer for Embracing Change

Dear Lord, God of Love,
You have been with us all the years of Wesley Church’s existence, in every transition, every change and in every joyful moment. As we enter into this new era with excitement but with some anxiety, we recall your deep compassion, presence, and abounding love. You have never left us or forsaken us.

We thank you for the blessings, talents and spiritual discernment You have given our brothers and sisters through Pastor Ernie for transformation and renewal. We thank you for the experiences that have brought us to this moment.

Be with us as we move forward with a new pastor, welcoming him with great rejoicing, as the Lord grants us a new Shepherd to guide us and equip us for His glory.
Strengthen the faithful, arouse the listless and restore the repentant.
.
May Your assigned pastor to Wesley church be resolutely determined to be faithful to Your Word and take good care of his flock. May our new pastor equip us all for the work you have given us to do.

We pray for Wesley members to embrace the call to be the church, to make disciples wherever they are, starting with their families and neighbors. Grant us also the desire to care for and listen carefully to one other. Through all of this, may we remain faithful to God’s Word, confident Your Church will thrive.

Call us deeper into prayer, and open our eyes to Your presence. May we remember and remind others that “Messiah is among us”. Come Holy Spirit.

We pray this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

"I Am The True Vine, you are the Branches"
John 15:1

10:00 am Sunday Worship Service
Pastor Ernie Post

There will be a special announcement this Sunday by SPR chair, Kristine Johnson, in regard to our new pastor. Please make every effort to attend service this Sunday in- person or online. The new pastor officially starts in July.
Please help the church save money on paper and printing by checking in virtually on Sunday Service and receiving a bulletin. The QR code will be posted on the outside and inside of sanctuary entries, in the pews, and at the coffee station. Give it a try and see if it works for you. Paper bulletins will still be available if preferred.

*Please note: When registering for check in, it is only required to input one contact - cell phone OR email (although both are preferred.) All other requests are optional and can be bypassed by simply pressing the done button.

Additional Note: The bulletin can also be found on the Church website (https://wesleymemorial.net/bulletin/) in the CONNECT drop down menu . It is updated every week by the end of Thursday for the following Sunday.

If your phone is not pulling up current bulletin via the QR code on Sunday, it is likely you need to clear your cache (search history). To do this, open your search app, tap the three dot bar at bottom, tap history, then clear browsing data. Make sure cookies and site data has a check to the right as well as cached images and files. Then at bottom click "clear browsing data". Refer to google as some phones may differ. It is a good idea to clear the cache on your phone occasionally to keep your phone operating at its best.

*******Even if you prefer a paper bulletin, you can still sign in online in lieu of using a connect card. That still helps the church with printing costs.*********
