a note from Pastor Ernie
Hello Wesley,
We had three wonderful services for Holy Week and I am grateful to those who worked diligently to make those happen. During the week, we continued learning how Jesus reveals himself to the world. We have been learning how a Good Shepherd steers his sheep into green pastures. Easter, we listened to Jesus talk with Martha, who needed little more than a gentle conversation. Mary needed something more dramatic, so she witnessed her brother Lazarus rise from the dead. And of course, there were
those who saw all of this and heard all of the teaching and still did not believe. When Jesus dies on the cross, creation itself moans and the sun goes dark, the ground shakes, rocks split and the dead are raised. Some believe as a result of this. Very dramatic. Others, though, still do not believe and even begin to make up lies as to what they saw happen.

It astonishes me the lengths people go to deny what they saw with their own eyes. Even more astonishing is this verse: “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” John 20:29. The fact that I am a believer is quite miraculous. I am confused by those who do not believe, astonished because it is so obvious to me. Yet I read this and it is clear people
saw Jesus rise from the dead with their own eyes and refused to believe. Belief in Jesus is more astounding than unbelief. Even if I try to run away from belief, it tracks me down, just AMAZING!

I love being your pastor,
Ernie
This Friday we will meet in the multi-purpose room since there is a scheduled event in the sanctuary. All are invited to sing praise and lift up in prayer our church, our leaders, our pastor, new pastor, new leaders and our nation. Personal prayers for church members are offered at the end of the meeting.
Please join our HOPE ministry as we gather for the Nehemiah Action on Tuesday, April 16th, at Bible-Based Fellowship Church on Ehrlich Road in Carrollwood, at 6:30 pm. We will build our people power as we unite with 25 other faith-based congregations across Hillsborough County to address community leaders and stakeholders and to offer positive steps to a more just and compassionate society. HOPE stands up for the oppressed and the vulnerable, and we need everyone to put their faith into action by attending this event! We will carpool from Wesley, leaving at 6:00 pm.

Ministry Highlights

EASTER SUNDAY

We had a very special Holy Week and Easter Sunday. The Holy Spirit was moving.

HABANA HEALTH CARE CENTER

Last Saturday we had a very special visit with our friends at Habana Health Care Center. Jeff Davis prepared special music and an Easter devotion, we did an art activity and had cookies and an Easter goodie bag to hand out. We have been missing some of our regulars who have been coming since we first started this ministry two years ago. One in the hospital and some others have become more disabled and not able to come down to the activity room. Before we left we paid a visit to one of our favs, Rosie, and played music and sang, had a short devotion and prayed. It was very special.

Going down the elevator, a few of us knew it was time for a shift. So moving forward, we have decided to start as we usually do, but a little later, 2:30pm. After we sing, have a devotion and get the art activity going, some of us will do private room visits while others will stay in the activity room to oversee the color pages we typically do.

Recently, we have had an average of six helpers plus which works out nicely. Thank You to Renee Kincaid, Jan Grover, Toni Reitz, Susan Gillis, Kathy Newland, Linda Nall, Terri & Jeff Davis! Others that have come when they can are Becky Ritz and Tracey Shadday. Not everyone is able to make it every month. So if you have an interest in this ministry, please let the office know and we will get you connected. With more people we are able to give more individual attention. 90% of what you will do is simply participate and interact with the residents. They really do appreciate the time we spend with them. NAOMI-REBECCA CIRCLE

The Naomi-Rebecca Circle meets the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00pm in the sewing/craft room. This week they sang some hymns and Gail gave a devotion on the Holy Moments book. The various ministries the group supports were reviewed and approved as well as discussing up-coming events: Mother’s Day luncheon- Memorial Day Celebration- VBS . Gail adjourned the meeting in prayer. All women are invited to join them on the first Tuesday of each month.
Pack a Snack 4 Kids logo
It’s hard to believe that we are already winding down on this school year…We continue to work hard to serve the community and these kids. We are now at 234 children per week. While we are thrilled to be able to help so many kids in need, it does require more resources; mainly food and monetary donations.

We hope you will consider helping us reach this year’s finish line. You can pick up one or more of the items listed below or simply note a portion of your giving to PAS…. either way, we are eternally grateful for your continued prayers and support of our ministry.
 Juice boxes or pouches
 Applesauce or fruit cups – small individual cups
 Nature’s bakery fig bars
 Peanut Butter Crackers

You can bring the items to the church during normal business hours or of course bring with you on Sunday to church. If needed, you can reach out to Jamie directly to arrange a pick up at 813-967-3800 or [email protected]

We couldn’t do this without each and every one of you and we are grateful
for your continued support. Please be in prayer for all the Pack-a-Sack children and in prayer for our current needs.
The Ruth Circle is now collecting diapers, wipes, toiletries and educational supplies for their ministry to Children's Home Network. If you are able to help, please leave your donation in a marked container in the copy room. The Ruth Circle belongs to the United Women of Faith and meets the first Thursday of each month at 10am in the Sewing Room.

CUBA MINISTRY

MEDICINES FOR CUBA
The Cuba ministry continues to collect medicines to send to our sister churches. If you are able to help, you can leave donations on marked shelf in the copy room or in basket on the Cuba table in the back of the Sanctuary overflow.

COMMUNION STEWARDS NEEDED

Communion Stewards are responsible for the preparation of the bread, wine and the communion ware for use in the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper. Please consider being a part of our Communion Stewards Team for the 10am service. Set or clear the table once a month as a way of showing hospitality and welcome. Training provided. For more information, please contact the church office at (813)769-9157.

ALTAR FLOWERS

Flowers, on or by the Altar for our Sunday worship services, would be a
wonderful addition. Simply call or email the church office and let Terri Davis know the date and any particular colors wanted. We have a florist that gives us special pricing and they do a beautiful job. Flowers don’t always have to be in memory of a loved one. Think about celebrating an anniversary, someone’s birthday, graduation or
best of all, given to the Glory of God.
The office number is 813.469.9157 and the email [email protected].

A Prayer to be Closer to God

Dear Lord, I come before you with a humble heart, seeking to deepen my relationship with you. I know that you are the source of all wisdom, strength, and love, and I long to draw closer to you each day. Lord, help me to be obedient to your will and your ways., even when I don't understand.
Father God, Your Word says that nothing can separate me from your love. Thank you for never leaving or forsaking me! Your Word says when I call upon you, you hear me and save me. Lord, remind me of these truths today.
In the Holy name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer, Amen.

"I Am The Way and The Truth and The Life"
John John 14:6

10:00 am Sunday Worship Service
Pastor Ernie Post

Please make every effort to be here on Sunday April 14 when our new pastor
will be announced. The new pastor will start in the beginning of July 2024.
Please help the church save money on paper and printing by checking in virtually on Sunday Service and receiving a bulletin. The QR code will be posted on the outside and inside of sanctuary entries, in the pews, and at the coffee station. Give it a try and see if it works for you. Paper bulletins will still be available if preferred.

*Please note: When registering for check in, it is only required to input one contact - cell phone OR email (although both are preferred.) All other requests are optional and can be bypassed by simply pressing the done button.

Additional Note: The bulletin can also be found on the Church website (https://wesleymemorial.net/bulletin/) in the CONNECT drop down menu . It is updated every week by the end of Thursday for the following Sunday.

If your phone is not pulling up current bulletin via the QR code on Sunday, it is likely you need to clear your cache (search history). To do this, open your search app, tap the three dot bar at bottom, tap history, then clear browsing data. Make sure cookies and site data has a check to the right as well as cached images and files. Then at bottom click "clear browsing data". Refer to google as some phones may differ. It is a good idea to clear the cache on your phone occasionally to keep your phone operating at its best.

*******Even if you prefer a paper bulletin, you can still sign in online in lieu of using a connect card. That still helps the church with printing costs.*********
