HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

a note from Pastor Ernie
Hello Wesley,
This is Thanksgiving week and many of us will gather with family and celebrate being together. On Sunday we will look at forgiveness and its connection to the cross. Christians believe we are forgiven and most think that is because God by nature is a forgiving God. The reality is, God is a just God. Any mention of forgiveness without clearly centering on the price God paid on the cross is blasphemous. It is because of the cross that forgiveness is even possible. Sunday will be a gospel message with an
invitation to come to Jesus and receive forgiveness of sin.

Ephesians 1:7 says, “In Jesus we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.” This will be our theme verse this week and our call to worship. Our forgiveness came at a price Jesus was willing to pay. “Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sin.” Hebrews 9:22.

As we gather this week, I know there are some who are being called to forgive and some who know they need to ask for forgiveness. Look to Jesus who lived out how this can happen, and remember, “You have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your own blood.” Hebrews 12:4

Love and care for those around you. Tell stories that make everyone laugh. Eat until you are beyond full and then watch a football game or take a hike, or both. This is the season of Thanksgiving and I for one am most grateful for Jesus.

I love being your pastor,
Ernie

Ministry Highlights

CUBA MINISTRY

JOIN US IN SENDING CHRISTMAS LOVE TO OUR SISTER CHURCHES!
Visit our Cuba Ministry table in the back of the sanctuary. You'll find a christmas tree. Take an ornament or two and help bring Christmas to the children of our 2 sister churches. Over the next few weeks drop your gifts off to Manny and Ashley Cisneros or on the Cuba table at the back of the sanctuary overflow. Attach the paper that you find on the back of the ornament to your gift. Please keep the ornament as a reminder to pray for the children and families.
Our goal is to have all gifts collected by December 3rd.
Just a few gift ideas if you are not sure what to buy: Girls-small dolls, hair ornaments, or accessories. Boys- small cars and footballs. Dollar Tree is a great place to find these items, like socks, coloring books (Christian theme preferably, but all will do), and crayons.

LETTER FROM DURANONA TO WESLEY – November 18,2023
Translation below, blessings, Renee

May God bless you always, beloved family.
I send this letter of gratitude, speaking for all Durañona Methodist Church members, to send you a few words of thanks, with a great deal of affection and love, We marvel at what God is doing through you. We already received the power plant (the power generator) but, we have not been able to use it yet because it did not bring all the accessories needed. We are trying to find and buy them; however, the cost is really high.

We are very happy and grateful because we know that, very soon, we will be able to use it. The blackouts are stronger and last longer every day. We pray to God that this situation passes quickly. We hope that God blesses you richly and abundantly.
Pastor Ernie, we are very grateful for your support for our church. Please know that we do not stop praying for you, for your family, for your plans, your projects. This church in Cuba loves you, your family and each of the member of the sister church at Wesley Memorial

I also take this opportunity to thank you for all the donations the church has sent us; for all the times that you have sent us soups, oil, milk, medicines, personal hygiene, toys for the children, eyeglasses, salary aid, help for the church. In the material sense, we can only look at the sky and thank God for every and each one of you.
We urge you to seek God all the time because the Word of the Lord tells us that if we call on Him, He will answer us and teach us great and hidden things that we cannot even fathom. These are crucial times to seek God with all our strength. These are urgent times to learn from Mary who prostrated herself at the teacher's feet and eagerly waited to hear a word of encouragement. These are critical times to also see that the worldly chores don’t distract us and distance us from our Lord’s purpose.
We have to learn to always give priority to God because these are the “end-times” of the end. At any moment the trumpets will be heard and the Lord will come for His church. As much as it depends on us, Wesley church will always be supported by our fasting and prayers. Although we do not have economic assets to give, we do have a commitment to search and cry out to the Lord for you. We hope that everything you, so generously, give is multiplied abundantly. and may the Lord reward you for everything you invest in us because our God is a God of power

As the apostle John said, so we also say to you, Wesley Church, ”Beloved, I desire that you prosper in all things just as your soul prospers. May all your family be in the Lord’s way and may you remain firm without wavering in the ways of our God.”
We love you, beloved family, God bless you always and sustain you with the power of heaven. We are grateful to God for you and for the benevolence that God has used towards us in a country where everything is so hard and dismal and adverse with so much hunger and despair. The constant lack of the most vital medicines is terrible but we are completely convinced that God listens to us and He has not abandoned us.
We can say like the apostle Paul, Philippians 4: 10 - 13 “ I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at length you have revived your concern for me. You were indeed concerned for me, but you had no opportunity. Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me”.

We are sending each and everyone of you a big hug from the distance from Duranona’s pastoral family and members. We love you in the name of Christ, many, many blessings, Pastora Darielis. .
