We are coming up on my favorite time of year, Thanksgiving, all the great memories. All the great fellowship times with my family and the church. Once again this year the church is going to be celebrating Thanksgiving by preparing a Thanksgiving meal for the community and I just love that we get to do that. Right after Thanksgiving comes the advent season and we’re going to be looking at all of the different gifts that God gives us for our spiritual journey: love, joy, peace, and hope. As we do this, let’s be grateful for all that God has given us, a great world and everything in it, a promise for a destination for our souls and he’s given us a pathway to get there. He has given us the gifts that are the most important gifts of life , and so we are grateful .

Some things we can look forward to are Community Thanksgiving meals, Nov. 23 ; Christmas Craft Fair, Nov. 25; Christmas Carols at Habana Health Care Center, Nov. 25; Hanging of the Greens, Dec. 1; McMickeys Farm, Dec. 2; Silver Saints Christmas Luncheon, Dec. 2 ; Christmas Caroling at Baycrest Boat Dock, Dec. 3; Ladies Christmas Tea, Dec. 9; Fort Desoto renewal service with baptisms in the Gulf, Dec. 10; Promiseland Christmas movie matinees, Dec. 13 &17; Christmas Cantata and Christmas Eve: holy moments, Dec. 24. These are all things you can invite friends and neighbors to share the love of Christ.

If you have not yet registered and had your picture taken for the church directory, please come to the multi-purpose room (across from bathroom) immediately after Sunday Service, Nov.19. If you are unable to come this Sunday, please contact church office to schedule a time. Or, if you prefer, you can send in your own photo with your contact info. We hope to have the church directory complete before it goes to the printer.

Thank You to Heather White and Herman Small for coordinating the Community Thanksgiving Meals! This year we are asking only for monetary donations so we can purchase turkeys that are all the same size. It is a lot easier to cook multiple turkeys when they are the same size. You can drop your donation in a marked envelope in the Sunday offering plate or bring to church office.

GOD IN THE WOODS
|
|
We had a great time at Hillsborough River State Park. We took a hike down the river, had a bible teaching lesson afterwards, grilled out and had great food, played games, had a nature inspired art activity and some splashed around in kayaks and others strummed on the guitar. It was a great fellowship time. Thank you Pastor Ernie for making this happen!

CUBA MINISTRY

JOIN US IN SENDING CHRISTMAS LOVE TO OUR SISTER CHURCHES!

Visit our Cuba Ministry table in the back of the sanctuary. You'll find a christmas tree. Take an ornament or two and help bring Christmas to the children of our 2 sister churches. Over the next few weeks drop your gifts off to Manny and Ashley Cisneros or on the Cuba table at the back of the sanctuary overflow. Attach the paper that you find on the back of the ornament to your gift. Please keep the ornament as a reminder to pray for the children and families.

Our goal is to have all gifts collected by December 3rd.
Just a few gift ideas if you are not sure what to buy: Girls-small dolls, hair ornaments, or accessories. Boys- small cars and footballs. Dollar Tree is a great place to find these items, like socks, coloring books (Christian theme preferably, but all will do), and crayons.

A Note from Nadia Nunez, Youth Director
|
Dear Wesley Church,
It is with a grateful but heavy heart that I must put in my resignation as Youth Director. Although Larry wasn’t on the payroll he co-lead this group with me every step of the way. The past four years in this ministry have been a beautiful blessing to us. We have always realized that God is the one truly running GodGang and we give Him all the glory for any fruit that has developed from it and we trust where he will take it!
|
Over the years we have met so many students and parents from our community. The relationships that were formed are true bonds of friendship that we hold dear and near to our hearts. We have been blessed to speak Jesus into the lives of teenagers and watch them hunger and mature for Christ. We have had the most spiritual encounters baptizing 10 students over the years and seeing them commit their lives to God! We are so very grateful and thankful for each experience and relationship.

Wesley, thank you for your love & support with every venture GodGang was into! YOU ARE AMAZING! As some of you may know I have been working towards a promotion for the last 2 years at Starbucks and I have finally reached management level. One of God’s many blessings in my life. It is sad to close this chapter of ministry in our lives but we must follow God’s call. My dear friend and mentor Renee Kincaid taught me that there is a season for everything from the book of Ecclesiastes. It’s a lesson I’m grateful for. We trust in God and know that He is in control. We know He is leading to where He wants us.

1- …..You allow Wesley Church to be filled with people whose lives are transformed and renewed by Your love..... and let it begin with me.
|
|
2- … all our Wesley brothers and sisters may live humble lives, knowing that other people are more important than them ..... and let it begin with me.
|
|
3- ….. our church body choose to share and enter into the suffering of Your cross and the suffering of others ..... and let it begin with me.

Please help the church save money on paper and printing by checking in virtually on Sunday Service and receiving a bulletin. The QR code will be posted on the outside and inside of sanctuary entries, in the pews, and at the coffee station. Give it a try and see if it works for you.
