a note from Pastor Ernie
Hello Wesley,

This week Leslie Berlin and I will be sharing a message on Paul’s shipwreck and being castaway on Malta. Leslie will be here at the church and I will be at Hillsborough River State Park.

For those who are planning to come to the park, I have a few updates. We will go on a hike at 10 am and then have a group lesson. Courtney will be there for the children to help and then we will have lunch. We will provide meat and a grill and everyone can just bring something to share. After lunch we will have some picnic type games, corn hole, croquet, an art time led by Terri, and we have reserved a couple of kayaks for people to splash around in the river. You can also bring your own kayak/canoe.

The cost to enter the park is $6/car and we will meet at the pavilion by the kayak rentals. The hike is about two miles and not paved. It travels along the river and is just beautiful. (For those unable to hike 2 miles, there is an entry point at the river you can drive your car and have a shorter walk.) If you are coming to the park, please share this verse with one another before coming. Revelation 22:1 “Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city.”

Also make sure to bring your camera/phone to take a photograph as part of our learning that morning. Many thanks to the Cisnero family for stepping up to help. Manny will be the grill master and Ashley and the kids have been helping get the retreat program ready. This will be some fun. Sunday morning at Wesley, please be in prayer for all of us as the gospel will be shared for all who come.

I love being your pastor,
Ernie

FRIDAY NIGHT SONG & PRAYER GATHERING

Friday, November 10th from 7:00pm to 8:00pm

We hope that you will join us this Friday!
There is great power in coming together as a church to sing and pray!

Please make every effort to join us this Friday night!

The Lord is near to the broken-hearted and saves the crushed in spirit—Psalm 34:18

Walking the Mourner’s Path is a Christ-centered, spiritually-directed grief support group for those who are mourning the death of a loved one and are experiencing the pain of grief. Group members become aware of God’s presence and healing comfort as they share their own stories with each other. Participants learn ways to honor loved ones, seek spiritual direction and discover Christ’s promise of comfort as they move forward.
Connie Pruitt is a trained leader. Please contact her to register or if you would like more information. 813-494-4049
Thank You to Heather White and Herman Small for coordinating the Community Thanksgiving Meals! This year we are asking only for monetary donations so we can purchase turkeys that are all the same size. It is a lot easier to cook multiple turkeys when they are the same size. You can drop your donation in a marked envelope in the Sunday offering plate or bring to church office.

Volunteers to assist are needed!

Please reply to this email if you are able to join.

We will meet and eat in the Sanctuary overflow area.
Come help us decorate the church for the season
as we fellowship and spend a short time in prayer!

CUBA MINISTRY

JOIN US IN SENDING CHRISTMAS LOVE TO OUR SISTER CHURCHES!
Visit our Cuba Ministry table in the back of the sanctuary. You'll find a christmas tree. Take an ornament or two and help bring Christmas to the children of our 2 sister churches. Over the next few weeks drop your gifts off to Manny and Ashley Cisneros or on the Cuba table at the back of the sanctuary overflow. Attach the paper that you find on the back of the ornament to your gift. Please keep the ornament as a reminder to pray for the children and families.
Our goal is to have all gifts collected by December 3rd.
Just a few gift ideas if you are not sure what to buy: Girls-small dolls, hair ornaments, or accessories. Boys- small cars and footballs. Dollar Tree is a great place to find these items, like socks, coloring books (Christian theme preferably, but all will do), and crayons.

A Prayer for Finding God in the Woods

Oh God, let us give you thanks for the beauty of creation. Thank you for the rich Christian lives we are privileged to have, the living things around us, and the beautiful plants that populate your earth. Thank you for the blessing of harmony in nature, and may the earth continue to thrive under your loving presence.

Creator God, at the beginning of time your voice brought light into the darkness. Your hands shaped dry land. Your creativity exploded in colors and shapes and smells. And your breath brought life to all creatures. We pray that those participating in "Finding God in the Woods" this Sunday ,as well as those that will be at Wesley, that they will discover the light of your presence, hear your purpose-giving voice of direction, and be amazed and inspired by your creativity. And as they breathe in fresh air, may you fill them with the breath of your Spirit who brings true peace, rest, and strength. Amen.
