a note from Pastor Ernie
Hello Wesley,
Incredibly it is almost October and soon the leaves will be changing….oh wait, that was Pennsylvania. I was reading Oswald Chambers this morning and he had a powerful thought. He was talking about the people who initially proclaimed “Lord I will go with you wherever you want” only to almost immediately turn away and go back home. He said it like this, “Never apologize for the Lord. The words of the Lord hurt and offend until there is nothing left to hurt or offend. Jesus Christ has no tenderness toward
anything that is ultimately going to ruin us.”

Too often we run from His words that hurt us when we should swallow them, ingest them, use their energy as a resource for transformation. Following Jesus may seem like a grand idea until we realize our little world does not become a garden of peace. Once we know that in the world there will be trouble even with Jesus, too often we simply throw up our hands and say, “what’s the point?” Maybe the real question today is are we doing anything that might be worthy of God speaking to us? If we spend too much time turning away from the voice trying to help, we end up not hearing the voice at
all and get confused by all the other voices. I sense that if God is going to speak to me it is likely a word of guidance, an effort to help me see what is important, the right way to go. He may be less inclined to say, “good job, you are doing the right thing.”

Chambers says, “we must be fiercely ready to follow Jesus.” We are to be "no matter what" people. There is no “good bye” in Christianity, no “I’m done.” Our determination springs from a well of hope that has no bottom to it. The spring is endless.

I love being your pastor,
Ernie
This Sunday is the last session to get your photo taken for the Church Directory! If you have not had your picture taken yet, please make every effort to come before or after the 10am church service. If that is not possible, you will need to contact the church office and schedule a personal session. Whether you or a member or not, we want every regular attender and online participant to be in the directory!

Last Friday was our first delivery to include all 3 schools!! All went smoothly and Webb Middle School i thrilled to be a part of this ministry and they are very grateful for the opportunity to work together this school year. If you are able and want to help, we are always in need of the following:
  • Tuna/Chicken salad snack (Bumble or Dollar Tree Brand)
  • Nutrigrain bars
  • Small boxes of raisins
  • Juice boxes or pouches
PACKERS NEEDED: If you would like to come and help us pack, we'd love to have you. If you have a small group (company team building, girl scout troop, bible study group, etc.) we can arrange a time for your group to come in and pack! It's fun and rewarding. Coffee with Ernie
This week Pastor Ernie shared his thought inspired by Nehemiah 9:6. Like Nehemiah, when God gives us a daunting task that seems impossible, we need to continue to worship and trust God, know that He is bigger than any job He gives us and that God has a plan. God will provide helpers and then it is time to get to work. You are invited to listen to Pastor Ernie every Tuesday morning at 7:30am on Facebook or you can watch it later. A Prayer for Unity

Heavenly Father, thank you for your great love for the church. We pray that your people would have unity amid diversity and would love each other faithfully regardless of culture or background. We ask that your church would produce mature disciples of Jesus who would spread the gospel message across the world. We pray that you would raise up godly and reliable leaders to shepherd your people. We ask that your church would display a hunger for your word and for your spirit. We ask that you would develop and sustain deep, meaningful relationships throughout your church that are used to demonstrate your love to a watching world. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
