a note from Pastor Ernie
Hello Wesley,
This morning one of my devotions had this key verse: "God [made all people from one man] so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us." — Acts 17:27 . God made all of humanity so that we would seek him. Now there is a thought that baffles the mind. We know God’s ways are not thwarted and yet so many do not seek Him. I think the real question is not about those who do not seek God but about those who do. About me. Am I seeking God fully, completely? Do I settle for little glimpses, and the chills when I sense a special presence? I really think I should be aware there is so much more.

Paul tells the Athenians, who prided themselves on their philosophically astute minds, that the true God is not so far from each of us, not so difficult to reach, or to hear. Paul says He “is not far from each of us.” That is a tremendous comfort. God makes is easy to find Him and to hear from him. The simplest of things reveals the God who cares for us. And at the same time my simple life can reveal the God who cares to someone else. BE JESUS to someone today. Help someone see that God is not so far away.

I love being your pastor,
Ernie

Coffee with Ernie
This week Pastor Ernie talked about the differences in perception. There is a difference between being humble and having low self-esteem. A humble person looks beyond themselves and elevates other people. Low self-esteem is a focus of lowering of self to punish yourself. You are invited to listen to Pastor Ernie every Tuesday morning at 7:30am on Facebook or you can watch it later. Click link below for the most recent episode.

A Prayer for Unity

Heavenly Father, thank you for your great love for the church. We pray that your people would have unity amid diversity and would love each other faithfully regardless of culture or background. We ask that your church would produce mature disciples of Jesus who would spread the gospel message across the world. We pray that you would raise up godly and reliable leaders to shepherd your people. We ask that your church would display a hunger for your word and for your spirit. We ask that you would develop and sustain deep, meaningful relationships throughout your church that are used to demonstrate your love to a watching world. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
