a note from Pastor Ernie
Hello Wesley,
Soul painting last Saturday was great fun. I go to watch friends put on layers of color. We meet again September 23 and you should plan to stop in for a bit. We are painting 11 am to 2 pm in the FLC. The painting is a part of a larger initiative we are working on to create a Wesley Advent Devotional that will include what we paint and a devotion written by the Wesley family. Below is a mockup of the format for the Advent Booklet here.
The painting follows the Advent themes of Love, Joy, Peace, Hope, and Faith and the devotions will mirror what we are painting. When we are done, we will have our very own advent devotional booklet with original artwork. Pretty cool. Last Saturday I picked the following verse: “When your words came, I ate them; they were a joy and my
heart’s delight, for I bear your name, Lord God Almighty.” Jeremiah 15:16. It was pleasing to remember that I bear the image of the Almighty on my soul. I wrote the verse on the foundation of the painting, the first undercoat, and I know exactly where it is. Soon it will become part of our advent devotion and I can remember that God’s word when it enters my life is a joy.

I want to encourage you to participate in soul painting and the creation of an advent devotional. Pick a verse to meditate on and then write a thought and a prayer. Make your mark and be part of the community art. I will be available to anyone who would like help with this.

I love being your pastor,
Ernie

WOW's FALL AND CHRISTMAS CRAFT YEAR

Some of the missions they support include: World Team whose mission is to disciple and make disciples; Wycliffe Bible Translators, making the Bible accessible in various languages; Kairos Prison Ministry, sharing Jesus’ love to impact the hearts and lives of incarcerated men, women and youth; Bridging Freedom whose mission is restoration and prevention of minor sex trafficking; Methodists United in Prayer providing support for sister churches in Cuba; FUM Children’s Home; Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes: Pack a Sack, providing food for chronically hungry children in the school system; and short mission trips of the Wesley Youth and other members.

This year the Craft Fair is Sat. Oct. 21 from 9am -4pm and Sun., Oct 22 from 11am-2pm. The Fellowship Hall will be full of all kind of goodies for holiday giving and decorating. There will also be an activity for the kids!

 Juice boxes or pouches
 Nutrigrain bars
 Small boxes of raisins
We are still looking for some back up drivers for those occasions where we need someone for a quick fill in. Deliveries are on Fridays – drivers go to the church to pick up bags around 10:30am and it’s 3 deliveries – Dickinson, Town n Country Elem, then
right next door to Webb Middle School. Should take about an hour total. If this is something you’d like to learn more about, feel free to reach out to Shaun at

Thank you again for all the love and support –

Coffee with Ernie
Pastor Ernie reminded of us of comforting things we can find in Ephesians 1 when we don't understand things that are happening around us. We need to trust that our journey is part of His Plan. You are invited to join Pastor Ernie every Tuesday morning at 7:30am on Facebook or you can watch it later. Click link below for the most recent episode.

A Prayer for Unity

Heavenly Father, thank you for your great love for the church. We pray that your people would have unity amid diversity and would love each other faithfully regardless of culture or background. We ask that your church would produce mature disciples of Jesus who would spread the gospel message across the world. We pray that you would raise up godly and reliable leaders to shepherd your people. We ask that your church would display a hunger for your word and for your spirit. We ask that you would develop and sustain deep, meaningful relationships throughout your church that are used to demonstrate your love to a watching world. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
