a note from Pastor Ernie
Hello Wesley,
So glad we got to hear about our ministry with Cuba and our sister churches. I would encourage anyone who wants to go to Cuba on a mission trip to get in touch with Renee Kincaid. There are trips almost every year.

Sunday, we got to read one of the most important theological writings in all of Christendom, John 1. “In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God…And the word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.” This passage reveals both the triumph and the tragedy of Christmas. The light of God has come to us to save us…that is triumph. But the darkness has not understood the light…that is tragedy. For those who believe, John says, “from the fullness of his
grace we have received one blessing after another.” John 1:16

As a believer, I am given the gift of seeing and understanding something of the nature of God non-believers simply do not have. I believe God cares for me enough to give me one blessing after another. There is such comfort in those words, such abundance. There is power in the thought that no matter what I see with my human eyes or feel with my human heart, no matter what earthly joy or sorrow I experience, God has blessed me. I believe! That, my friends, is the greatest gift of all.

We should pray for our family and friends that they might be open to receiving the gift of belief; we need to become living witnesses of the power that changed our lives; every chance we get, we should celebrate God’s great work of grace in us as a collective people, and we must stand together in the triumph of Christmas. The light of the world has come to us. God did not give up on me and he has not given up on you. Hallelujah!

I love being your pastor,
Ernie

We need 2 -4 persons to remain in the activity room to monitor the art activity while 2 or 3 go upstairs. The art activity is almost always a theme color page and easy to monitor and just enjoy participating with the residents.

It’s hard to believe that we are already winding down on this school year…We continue to work hard to serve the community and these kids. We are now at 234 children per week. While we are thrilled to be able to help so many kids in need, it does require more resources; mainly food and monetary donations.

We hope you will consider helping us reach this year’s finish line. You can pick up one or more of the items listed below or simply note a portion of your giving to PAS…. either way, we are eternally grateful for your continued prayers and support of our ministry.
 Juice boxes or pouches
 Applesauce or fruit cups – small individual cups
 Nature’s bakery fig bars
 Peanut Butter Crackers

You can bring the items to the church during normal business hours or of course bring with you on Sunday to church. If needed, you can reach out to Jamie directly to arrange a pick up at 813-967-3800 or [email protected]

We couldn’t do this without each and every one of you and we are grateful
for your continued support. Please be in prayer for all the Pack-a-Sack children and in prayer for our current needs.
The Ruth Circle is now collecting diapers, wipes, toiletries and educational supplies for their ministry to Children's Home Network. Coffee with Ernie
This week Pastor Ernie talked about that for the soul to believe it takes a great deal of power. The power being the light that shines in the darkness. Only if you let the light in will you come to believe. You can listen to Coffee with Ernie every Tuesday morning on Facebook at 7:30am (give or take) or you can watch later. Click link below for the most recent episode.

A Prayer to Receive the Gift of Belief

Gracious and Loving God, I pray for all those around the world who do not know you yet and have no one praying for them. Knowing that you work in ways that I cannot understand, I ask that my prayers might lead them to you. I ask You to shine a light in their darkness and that they would receive your gift of belief.

I pray that Your Light would shine through me and be a witness to my faith. Help me to continue to grow in my own faith to become more and more kind, gentle, loving, patient, hopeful and at peace, even in this broken world. Let me always be ready to share my faith with others and not be complacent to growing Your Kingdom.

Dear Lord, it is within the power of Your Light that we all come to believe. We need you more than ever. I pray for Your Light to penetrate the souls of us all and that we are open to receiving your gift each and every day, not only for ourselves, but to be shared with others.

Come O Holy Spirit. Amen.

10:00 am Sunday Worship Service
Pastor Ernie Post

Please help the church save money on paper and printing by checking in virtually on Sunday Service and receiving a bulletin. The QR code will be posted on the outside and inside of sanctuary entries, in the pews, and at the information desk. Give it a try and see if it works for you. Paper bulletins will still be available if preferred.

*Please note: When registering for check in, it is only required to input one contact - cell phone OR email (although both are preferred.) All other requests are optional and can be bypassed by simply pressing the done button.

Additional Note: The bulletin can also be found on the Church website (https://wesleymemorial.net/bulletin/) in the CONNECT drop down menu . It is updated every week by the end of Thursday for the following Sunday.

If your phone is not pulling up current bulletin via the QR code on Sunday, it is likely you need to clear your cache (search history). To do this, open your search app, tap the three dot bar at bottom, tap history, then clear browsing data. Make sure cookies and site data has a check to the right as well as cached images and files. Then at bottom click "clear browsing data". Refer to google as some phones may differ. It is a good idea to clear the cache on your phone occasionally to keep your phone operating at its best.

*******Even if you prefer a paper bulletin, you can still sign in online in lieu of using a connect card. That still helps the church with printing costs.*********
