Pastor's Notes to Wesley

|
It is a grand morning again and I have already been outside. I decided to grow grass in my front yard by grass seed. I killed the old grass and all the weeds with chemicals, waited to see if anything lived. Some of the weeds made it so I sprayed them again until they died. I waited two weeks and then rototilled the entire front yard, Waited a few days and then tilled it again.I planted grass seed with a fertilizer shell for growth support and watered every day for three weeks. The grass grew but so did some of the weeds. How did they do that? It seems the roots of these weeds may be three feet below the surface. And I did not till that deep.

It made me wonder how deep the spiritual weeds are in my own life. Even when I am certain they are dead, the roots are deep. Looks like I will have to keep killing weeds for a while and the only real answer will be to keep killing the weeds AND growing more grass until the grass overwhelms the weeds. The grass will need a whole lot of help and constant attention. The answer is I have to do both. Both are necessary for the lawn to become what I envision.

The same is true of our own souls. Sometimes people ask me what they should do, They know Jesus died for them so what is next? Over and over again the Scriptures tell us we need to bear fruit. The next thing is always to bear fruit. In the coming weeks I will be sharing a little about how we bear fruit in our lives. How do we become the beautiful soul God envisions us to be?

Round Table Q + A
|
|
|
There will be a Round Table Q & A Session directly after each service this week in the multi purpose room (Church Hall across from restroom) to discuss recent decisions that have been made concerning the future of Wesley Memorial and the United Methodist denomination. Please join us if you have any questions or just curious about plans moving forward.

Thank You Wesley Members for your prayers for the future direction of Wesley! They are very much needed and appreciated!

We encourage all to come to the prayer gathering in the sanctuary the third Thursday of each month to continue prayers for discernment as the board members plan out our next steps through the year.
|
The next meeting is May 19 where Renee Kincaid will be facilitating guided prayers in the sanctuary between 9am – 2pm. If you are not able to join us, we welcome your prayers at any location and time that is suitable for you.
|

who will be promoted from Assistant Director to Director of Bridges as of June 1st 2022!!!
In the meantime she is Director in Training working closely with Jennifer Foster.

GodGang is so excited about going to Camp Anderson aka Camp Andy this year!!! Last year we visited the Marianna location and this year we get to test their new Vero Beach location! We have 30 Students registered for camp and the majority of the students need scholarships. We need about 15 more scholarships! The Camp Tuition for each student is $275 (this is very affordable tuition for 5 days of room & board & food & ALL activities). GodGang Youth is so grateful for the support they receive from the congregation to make this happen for them.

Thank you to EVERYONE that has sponsored a student! You are a true blessing to a teen in a vital time on their faith journey! God sees you!

God has allowed me the privilege of sending out requests, since the day we did it by phone. However, now to bring the system up to giving new people the opportunity to serve in this manner, we're trying to change the way we do things.
