I am happy to bring you some very great news. Our first PPP loan has been forgiven. When the pandemic began, Wesley and Bridges joined together to take advantage of the payroll protection program offered by the government and we are happy to say the loan was forgiven. The monies went toward salaries at the school and church while everyone was figuring out how to get on our feet again.
|
More good news, Wesley is hosting the formation of a group of community leaders who are gathering to discern how we can assist the refugee crisis in Eastern Europe. Please be in prayer about this. "And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern..." I am thankful you have been praying for me and us to discern. When we began this prayer together I had no idea I would be deciding about sending people I love to refugee camps in eastern Europe to help children.

More good news. The rest of the flooring that was backordered is scheduled to arrive tomorrow and will be installed this coming week. Hallelujah. There is a chance we will be in the sanctuary for Easter.
|
So today I am the bearer of good news and I am honored to share it with you.

Ukraine is the largest country in Europe. They are experiencing an unprecedented move of freedom - religious freedom, freedom to worship and spreading of the gospel. The Russian invasion and occupation means persecution and stripping of freedoms for Ukraine.
|
|
Jesus said, “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you”. Matthew 5:44
|
Ephesians 6:12 “We wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
|

For God to redeem the situation by awakening Ukraine to the spiritual nature of this war.
|

|
For a move of the Holy Spirit to be poured out on both Ukraine &. Russia, bringing freedom from bondage of liberal ideology, new age practices and spiritual blindness to the gospel
|

|
For Putin and his enabled leaders - that strongholds of greed and power would be broken and they would bend their knees to the lordship of Christ
|
-
|
For Russian soldiers to lose the will to fight, to be afraid, confused and disheartened and give up their arms
|
-
|
For supernatural encounters with the triune God
|
|
|

If you are called to donate funds to Ukraine, Wesley will be supporting Theresa & Scott who are missionaries to the Ukraine special needs population. You can write a check to Wesley and put "Ukraine" in the memo line. Theresa is a neuropsychologist and medic. She has been teaching throughout Ukraine about therapies that can keep special needs children at home instead of sending them to orphanages. Her husband Scott is a pastor that preaches the word fervently and has saved many souls in their mission work over the years.

We left a lot of medical supplies and our vehicle there. This van has been transporting dozens of people to safety across the border. People are using the medical supplies and equipment she left there. Theresa is teaching a 1st Aid course online as needed. She is teaching about how to deal with trauma in children who have been exposed to this violence.

Because of the training many have had through Theresa over the past 7 years, there are tools in the hands of many for helping children with special needs handle the uncontrolled environments they are in. Who would have known these tools would be needed in such a dire way.

Theresa & Scott are seeing dozens of Ukrainian churches offering prayer services in person and through Zoom, offering encouragement to believers. They are helping those trying to get out, almost like an Underground Railroad. They act as coordinators helping families travel long miles with safe places to stop overnight.

Theresa & Scott are coordinating connections between US women and Ukrainian mothers who receive daily encouragement and support through an easy-to-use app that allows its users

“and it’s the little things” … a VT bank is waiving all transfer fees from money going from Theresa & Scott’s nonprofit to Ukraine, people are stepping forward in many ways. It is the fishes and loaves in real time and in a variety of ways
|

Summer Camp Fundraising Time!!!!
|
|
|
GodGang is so excited about going to Camp Anderson aka Camp Andy this year!!! They have opened up a second location in Vero Beach, FL which is only 2 hours away from Tampa! We have 40 Students registered for camp and the majority of the students need scholarships. The Camp Tuition for each student is $275 (this is very affordable tuition for 5 days of room & board & food & ALL activities). Don't be surprised if you see some fundraising efforts going on outside of the sanctuary very soon! GodGang Youth is so grateful for the support they receive from the congregation to make this happen for them. If you feel it on your heart to sponsor a child or 2 or 3, you can make a donation and give it to the church in the offering plate, make sure to put Youth Camp in the memo, or please contact Nadia at 813-750-6696 by text or email her at [email protected].

God has allowed me the privilege of sending out requests, since the day we did it by phone. However, now to bring the system up to giving new people the opportunity to serve in this manner, we're trying to change the way we do things. We will no longer be having the Salvation Army Donation Drop Box here at Wesley. Unfortunately, there have been items that are too large being left outside of the Drop Box that couldn't be collected and it has become an eye sore & a difficult job for the Salvation Army workers.
