Pastor's Notes to Wesley

Hello Wesley,
Can it already be 2022 tomorrow? How is it possible another year has run by us? As we begin this year, I would like to encourage you to commit yourself to spiritual growth and a deeper discipleship walk. So I thought I would summarize a bit of our victory tree.

To begin, we have reflected on all of the work that is ahead of us, our trials, our sorrows, and our sins, and there were many deep things we asked God to help us with: Depression, disappointment, anger, fear, lack of love, stubborn heart, overprotective, alcohol, grief, abandonment, doubt. There were more than seventy of these deep-seated desires for transformation.

We spent most of the advent season focusing on how God might want us to change and how we might be able to make some progress. The guiding principle was that God encourages us to fill our lives with an overwhelming positive spiritual discipline. Transformation requires effort, perspective, perseverance.

So here are our ornaments that will overwhelm our sin and sorrows: serve others, trust God, Love exceedingly, treasure God moments, study God’s word. Pray continuously. Give generously. As we enter the new year and so many are setting goals like losing weight or making money, how about God’s people set a goal of becoming more Christlike and work with the Holy Spirit on becoming a “new creation?” Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old has gone, the new is here!” 2 Corinthians 5:17

I love being your pastor,
Ernie

Christmas Eve at Wesley was so special, we praise God for His goodness! A special thanks to Jean Rowe for coordinating a truly wonderful evening. Together we are stronger and we want to thank everyone involved: the Acolyte, Ambassadors, Children's Ministry, Chancel Choir, Handbell Choir, Media Team, Praise Team, Youth Ministry, and Pastor Ernie for a perfect God- inspired message. We pray that you were blessed by the service. If you didn't get a chance to join us or watch from home, click on the link below for the full service. May it be a blessing to you.

A Christmas Blessing

Resized-Resized-20211225-073918
Wesley, we did a beautiful thing this Christmas! We were able to help a family of 6 have an unforgettable Christmas. We were able to bless them with a Christmas meal and also raise $550 in gift cards and brand new bike for one of the children. We should all be proud that we can show up for others! This is what God is after. Below are some pictures of the children opening up their Christmas Gifts. The smiles and looks of surprise say it all. Thank you for being a church dedicated to others!

Here are some words from the mom of this family:
"I am overwhelmed!!! I've been so overwhelmed by His love and abundance through this time. If you only knew the season we were walking out of. We serve a faithful and abundant God. This is a blessing far beyond abundance! Blessings and love to all who took part in blessing our family! I am so overwhelmed!"

May we continue to bless others throughout 2022.

Every Tuesday Morning, Pastor Ernie does a live devotional connected to scripture. Right now he is reading through the book of Hebrews. If the devotional moves you, Pastor Ernie encourages you to SHARE the video and leave a comment, so that someone else may be blessed!

Dear prayer warriors:

God has allowed me the privilege of sending out requests, since the day we did it by phone. However, now to bring the system up to giving new people the opportunity to serve in this manner, we're trying to change the way we do things. We are asking that instead of emailing me a prayer request, you can email the Church office ([email protected]) or use the link below (in blue) to enter your prayer requests on the Wesley Prayer Wall that is connected to the website. The steps on how to enter a request are featured below as well. If you could please help me in spreading the word on this change, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks for your prayers and the privilege to serve.
In His service,
Fran

Let us pray for you: When viewing the Worship Service, share/type in your prayer requests in the Comment Field. Your prayer requests will be recorded and added to the Prayer Wall in the church's website so that prayer warriors who visit the Prayer Wall can include your requests in their prayer lists.
Please Note: Prayer requests from the previous services have been posted to the Prayer Wall. Please take time to visit it and pray for these requests. Many Thanks!

We will no longer be having the Salvation Army Donation Drop Box here at Wesley. Unfortunately, there have been items that are too large being left outside of the Drop Box that couldn't be collected and it has become an eye sore & a difficult job for the Salvation Army workers. Below is a link for anyone that would like to schedule a pick up for donations through the Salvation Army.
