It sure is nice to be back in the fold with my friends. I had a great time in Virginia but Florida is home. We are having one service through July at 11:15 and already people are appreciating the energy and the unity. Leadership enthusiastically agrees that it is wise to move forward with a single service into the future. We will intentionally seek to combine ancient traditions with modern worship both in music and form and include hymns and modern songs, the Apostles Creed and Lord’s prayer. Starting in August,
we will have a single service at 10 am and children’s Sunday School will be at the same time. Adult classes can meet at 9 before the service. The timing allows us to try a number of fellowship ideas either before or after service, like a church breakfast or a pot luck lunch with everyone. I am super excited for those.

One of the goals leadership has established for 2024 is to be more intentional about discipleship, leading people to Christ and walking with them on their journey of faith. I am particularly interested and have already begun working on some exciting opportunities like a couple’s retreat, a family weekend away, father and son adventure, men’s survival trip, young adult adventure and more. 2024 is going to be a
great and adventurous year. Get Ready. It has been a few years since I tried some of these things so pray for my old body. I need to be able to carry a 75# canoe over my head for a mile up and down a mountain after a five-hour paddle. Right now, I can barely make it to the fridge. I am beginning to make connections to have a morning in the gym, a morning on the trail, and a morning on the lake and will be inviting people to join me. More info is on the horizon.

FRIDAY NIGHT SONG & PRAYER GATHERING

We hope that you will join us this Friday! Churches that pray together in unity are strengthened to face the spiritual war that surrounds us in this world and to focus on what God has called us to be as the church.
|
Our prayers will be focused on strengthening church unity, lifting our Pastor up, renewal as well as prayers for our ministries, leadership and members.
|
Please make every effort to join us this Friday night!

Rides will be provided for those who do not drive at night.

HABANA MINISTRY
|
|
We celebrated the upcoming July 4th at Habana Health Care Center with patriotic art and songs! We sang Happy Birthday to one of the residents and someone brought her a cake. Richard continues to work on his puzzles. He has quite a business going. He has a resource to convert a photo to a puzzle and then mounts them on a board to often be given as gifts, at a very reasonable price! ( I think Renee paid $22 for one she had him do of her daughter.) He's a very interesting fellow with a deep baritone voice. Let us know if you would be interested in having Richard do a project for you. He currently has a waiting list, so you will have to get in line. It is worth the wait!

Wesley has been committed now to the Habana Ministry for over a year. You may remember back on Valentines 2022 when we were in the FLC during remodeling we did our first project for them, putting together various handmade items that were delivered by a group of Wesley women. A couple months later, a monthly art activity was started which now includes music and singing with the assistance of a karaoke machine.

"God is sooo good! We just received the packages sent in the early April shipment, including so many things for the decoration of the temple, Hallelujah!

Wesley, you are a blessing, you have brought tears to my eyes with such beautiful and needy things for us and the temple. May God multiply your portion!.God’s time is so perfect, giving us so many things to decorate the temple on the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Duranona Methodist Church this weekend…… Glorious!I jumped and jumped up and down… wow… seeing the great surprise of finding eyeglasses in the packages. There will be many tears when I start giving them out to the brothers and sisters (25+) that cannot see because of bad eyesight.

A Prayer for Renewal and Protection
Dear Father God, Awesome God, God of Heaven and Earth,
|
We ask that you would have mercy on our church and forgive us for where we have fallen short of glorifying Your Name. We are hungry for you to renew in us the joy of our salvation. Bring us to the foot of the cross and restore the joy of our salvation and the truth of the glorious gospel of grace, back into the hearts of all who have lost their way in their spiritual walk.
|
Thank You, that when we wander away from You, You remain our ever-present help in time of trouble. When we prove faithless, You continue to prove to be faithful and true. Give each one of us a spiritual hunger for You, so that as a body we may glorify You.
|
We pray by the blood of Jesus Christ that our church would have the spirit of valor to conquer any evil forces within this church, that we would have a spirit of humility from the Holy Spirit and operate in gentleness and discernment. We ask for healing of any bitterness and instead pray for one another in a spirit of renewal.
|
Let us be totally surrendered to hear Your Voice and be available to do your will. May our actions be pleasing to you. We ask for your angels to surround and protect our church, our pastor , our leaders, our ministries and our people against any evil force that comes against us. We want your light to shine through us. Help us to be loving , respectful, and truthful in all that we say and do.
We pray for a special anointing on our Pastor as he leads us into tomorrow. We pray that you would comfort him in his grief, give him strength and protection to step into his own renewal as well as leading the church into a period of renewal. May he continue to be an example of perseverance in difficult situations and maintaining trust and hope in Your promises.
