Leadership is in the discernment phase for exploring disaffiliation from the United Methodist Church and we have invited Emily Hotho, our district superintendent to be with us on Sunday, June 4 and to share a message from the pulpit. We will have one service at 11:15 and then have a potluck luncheon where Emily will present for the United Methodist Church, and she has agreed to field questions. This is an important meeting so please make every effort to attend.

Please sign up with a Wesley Team to walk and/or donate for the Cornerstone Wonderwalk! You can choose to walk as a team starting at the Hyde Park UMC or host your own individual walk. Last year Wesley raised $10,000.00! Sign up sheets available at church after services in the overflow area.

Every year Wesley participates in the Wonder Walk raising funds for scholarships for economically disadvantaged students 0-5 years old to attend one of the three Rosa Valdez Early Learning Centers which provides quality early childcare education and nutricious food.

Summer Bible Study starts Wed., May 10th!
|
Do you feel overwhelmed? Insufficient? Too old? Too young? Too afraid? This study is about Gideon’s victory over his own weaknesses and the God who transformed his story into a triumph. Gideon found that his weakness was his gift!
|
This 7 week Sumer Study, Pricilla Shirer’s Gideon, is on Wednesdays starting on May 10. Classes are at 10:00 am and 6:30 pm both in person and online.
|

Spanish classes on Gideon will be held on Thursday evenings 6:00 to 7:30 pm. Starting May 11. Please contact Renee Kincaid 813-885-5674 [email protected].

The Promiseland kids will be making and serving their Mom's breakfast in Promiseland from 10am - 11am.
|

There will also be a photo booth set up in the Sanctuary overflow area between services for all Church Moms with a special surprise! Please plan to stay after first service or come a little early for second service. Donuts and coffee will be served!
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Thanks again to all of you that promoted and attended the Nehemiah Action. HOPE is moving on to the next stage in its annual cycle, our yearly investment drive. It's the time we have the opportunity to take ownership of this ministry and give back to support the hard working staff that have moved us toward a more just and Godly community.
|

Wesley will be sponsoring an Indoor Memorial Day Picnic on May 28th in the Fellowship Hall from 12:30 to 2:30. This is open to all veterans/families of veterans past and present. This is open to the community so let your friends and neighbors know. Reservations are required for this as seating will be limited. You can reserve your spot by texting to the number in graphic OR please contact Betsy Danielson at 813-968-2844 or Kelly Sweet at 813-748-8041 / [email protected] to reserve your spots and/ or share a testimonial on your veteran. We also would like to encourage you to bring any memorabilia that you may want to show at the luncheon. We will have a table set up to show your memories. We are engaged in an epic battle for the hearts and minds of our youth. Every day, they're bombarded with lies about who they are, who their Creator is, and where their salvation comes from. Thankfully, God has given his children armor to wear in this battle between truth and lies, light and darkness, good and evil!
|
|
With this VBS, your kids will learn how they can be part of God's kingdom through salvation in his Son and will be equipped with the armor of God to become Keepers of the Kingdom who stand strong in today's battle for truth.

Goes to Camp July 19 -23
|
Christian Summer Camp is a life transforming week for many youth that have attended in past years. The cost for each child this year is $295. Prayerfully consider if you would like to sponsor a child this year or donate in any amount. PRAISE TEAM
|
Wesley Memorial Church is currently searching for a keyboard player for our contemporary Praise Band. This part time position consists of one hour rehearsal time on Tuesday evenings and about two hours at church, Sunday mornings, 10:30-12:30. Pay is $150.00 per week. Familiarity with current praise music is a plus.
