a note from Pastor Ernie
I am in the midst of my Lenten dedication and committed to fasting each weekend. This past weekend has been a bit stressful and guess what happened. Monday morning I ate too soon. I gave in. It is not a surprise to me. I know the pattern. I have done this enough to know the way through. Satan would have me give up and consider it a lesson learned and do better next year. God, though, would have me double down confess the mistake and move on toward purity now. If I wait, I compound the sin. By confessing, as I have to you just now, I multiply the chance for growth and God's kingdom is strengthened, and so am I.

Life happens. It has many ebbs and flows, lots of things stress us and stress is a fertile ground for satan. If you fail to reach a goal, like in 27/90, just get right back at it. When we just toss the spiritual goals aside, it takes so much longer to learn what God is trying to teach us. Stay faithful and that means when you fall, get up and keep walking.

I love being your pastor,

Ernie

CUBA MINISTRY

LIFE IN THE DURAÑONA CHURCH-
Pastora Darielis and her congregation are dedicated to serve the small town of Durañona. They have a ministry called Help- Door-to-Door. They go to homes of those in need and do whatever work they can to help them with in their homes: cleaning, washing clothes, ironing, sewing, etc. She shares that this has been a wonderful experience that have allowed them to share the love of Christ in a more active way.
Pastora calls her helpers “Dorcas” who, in the Bible, was a woman known for her good works and acts of charity. She was a generous person who served and gave to the needy. She was also called a disciple of Jesus, that is, a follower, one who learned from Him, part of the inner circle in the early church (also called
Tabitha Acts 9:36-42)
The Durañona church brothers and sisters are fasting and praying for all the petitions that were sent from Wesley. And they send us this special Bible verse:
1 John 3: 2 “Dear friends, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.”

A Prayer for Lent

Lord God Almighty, shaper and ruler of all creatures, we pray for your great mercy, that you guide us towards you, for we cannot find our way.
And guide us to your will, to the need of our soul, for we cannot do it ourselves. And make our mind steadfast in your will and aware of our soul’s need.
Strengthen us against the temptations of the devil, and remove from us all lust and every unrighteousness, and shield us against our foes, seen and unseen.
Teach us to do your will, that we may inwardly love you before all things with a pure mind. For you are our maker and our redeemer, our help, our comfort, our trust, our hope; praise and glory be to you now and forever.

In Jesus name we pray,
Amen
