I had the privilege Wednesday of sharing a devotion with the CBS here at church and used a passage I will be referring to Sunday. It is such a good word I thought I would share it in writing. Zechariah is a prophet during the time of the exile, after the destruction and he is called by God to offer the people hope for a new beginning. This is when the temple begins to get rebuilt and the city of Jerusalem has an influx of people. In the first chapter, Zechariah challenges the people to believe what God tells them, “If you return to me, I will return to you.” It has been two generations since Jerusalem fell. People have been in despair for a long time and not everyone is enthusiastic about returning to Jerusalem. Most stay behind.

Those who go bring their despair with them. Moral is low and the work is tedious. Besides, they are building a temple, not a home for their family. In the end, the despair wins out in that generation. It takes a while before Nehemiah comes to Jerusalem to rebuild the walls. One whole generation lives in despair and the learning is, they carry it with them from captivity into freedom. Despair is fertile soil for both satan and God. It can lead to giving up entirely or it can lead to hope. The difference can be in the
person and most likely in the leadership.

This prayer gathering is for the sole purpose of asking for God’s guidance in giving our leaders discernment as we go forward. This is a shared commitment we all make as brothers and sisters in Wesley to pray and contend for the faith and our church. Come learn more about their weekly get togethers and special events throughout the year that encourages fellowship, leadership, serving and spiritual growth. Horderves will be served. HOPE Rally

These are pictures from the HOPE Rally on Feb. 27. Issues were finalized for the upcoming Nehemiah Action on March 20. It is important we get as many people as possible to this event for maximum effectiveness. Please consider joining with your Wesley Network Members to stand for important issues facing Hillsborough County. Our goal is to get 40 people representing Wesley Church. We need your help!

CUBA MINISTRY
|
|
On Thursday, March 2 nd , we sent 44 lbs of “help” to our sister churches in Cuba. You donated, Renee packed and Tracey took the packages to the agency to send them. Like Paul said in 1 Corinthians 3:6 “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it happen” and He gets the glory” Hallelujah! Thank you, Jesus!

The packages contained medicines, food, hygiene products and some materials for their children’s ministry. We prayed over the packages for God Almighty to deliver them there in His loving arms. As God would have it, a doctor and his family recently joined their congregation. How “on time” this was for this doctor to guide Pastora in the use and distribution of the medicines which are being sent. This is just one of so many “God’s coincidences”, when we see the “Hand of God”.

Pastora Darielis wants to share with us that, this week, she had a special Seminar for
married couples in her congregation. There were 10 couples in attendance, including
the doctor and his wife. Pastora had a special time of devotion and prayer. They
|
dedicated a special time to pray for sister church, Wesley.
|
Renee has sent Pastora prayer requests from Wesley’s prayer wall and others. Below Pastora has sent the prayer requests from her church:
^ May our sister relationship with Wesley church always be guided and blessed by God
^ May God allow us to extend His Kingdom in all of the town of Durañona and nearby villages where there is a lot of prostitution and idolatry in Santeria cults
^That we may finish the construction of the temple, at least laying the ground floor in time for the churches’ 20th anniversary on June 20th when we are planning a great celebration.
^ Brother, Angel, our Treasurer’s husband, is recovering from surgery at home- pray for his total healing
^ For our mission in nearby village and the Christian couple that is heading it.
^ For new converts and saved souls.

^ For the Sunday lunch project we have underway and special attention to those of the “third age” (Senior
Saints), the homeless and the children. We have not been able to do this lately because of lack of funds.
|

Bridges Preschool is hiring part time teachers and assistants starting now and more in the summer and fall. 18 year olds looking for a summer job will be considered.

The Praise Team is looking for a part time keyboard player who is familar with contemporary praise music and has a heart for the ministry. Requires participation in the 11:15am - 12:15pm Sunday Service as well as rehearsals on Tuesdays from 6-8pm. $150 weekly compensation.
