a note from Pastor Ernie
,I am excited to begin our new series on the prophets and look forward to where God takes us from now until Easter. We are giving away Scripture Journals for the series so if you come Sunday you can get one.

I have a great many things going on right now so this is short. Pray for your leaders. We are entering turbulent waters and excited to see where God takes us. One of the things we sometimes forget is that our "battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces.." Ephesians 6.

So please pray for all the church leadership, including the volunteers. Remember "three cords are not easily broken" so stick together and God will lead us to green pastures. When all else fails, trust in the Lord.

I love being your pastor,

Ernie

Wesley had eight Network Members representing the church at the HOPE Rally Feb. 27. Final approvals were given for the four main issues and proposed solutions that will be presented to Hillsborough County officials at the Nehemiah Action on March 20. The four main areas of concern are 1) Continuing to monitor the HOPE Affordable Housing Fund per HOPE proposals that were enacted in law in 2019 to ensure accountability. 2.) Criminal Justice Reform for misdemeanor arrests, specifically non-dangerous traffic offenses. 3) Accessing Mental Health and Addiction Services to increase access to prevention, treatment and recovery services. 4) Care for Creation/Environmental Justice addressing flooding and mold issues in Hillsborough County.
Thank You to all HOPE Network members at Wesley who are representing us as a church for important changes needed in Hillsborough County: Amy Disseler, Ann Canterbury, Carol Dittmar, Celia Petters, Charlie Dittmar, Connie Pruitt, Debbie Cockburn, Donna Quinones, Ginny Winters, Iraida Malpica, Karen Marotz, Kathy Newlan, Marilyn Preston, Nadia Wood, Nancy Blunk, Norm Coffman, Paula Walker, Renee and Pete Kincaid, Sharon Ruble, Sue Korsberg, Terri Davis, Tracey Shadday.

CUBA MINISTRY

Media Luna & Durañona Methodist Church
Below is recent news from Pastora Darielis:
via Renee Kincaid
In her email, she says that she just returned home to Durañona from spending 3 weeks in Havana going to Seminary classes. She had to travel 526 miles in bad roads and transportation (over 12 hours). When she arrived home she had terrible kidney stone pains. She tells us that, thanks be go God, she contacted the district Superintendent and he had some of the medicine she needed (Sulfaprim/Clotrimazole- a combination of 2 antibiotics) that had been sent to the district in the last medicine shipment. The doctor told her she also needed medication to crush the stones and that, of course, is not available.
(This has now been taken care of.)
Pastora also tells us that she suffers from headaches, because she needs eyeglasses and cannot get them. There is an organization that makes eyeglasses (@ special prices) for the Cuba ministry and I will be contacting them when Pastora sends the eye prescription so we can send her a pair.
(This has also now been taken care of.)
This is a translation from the last part of her email message: May God always bless all of our Wesley's brothers and sisters and know that the Methodist Church in Durañona members and pastors love you with the love of Christ. We always prayed for you, even before we knew that we would have a beautiful covenant with a sister church in the U.S. We fasted and we prayed believing, in faith, that one day God would place us with special brothers and sisters there and it came true!! Hallelujah! Thank you, Jesus!.Many blessings for your family, for the pastor and his family, and for each and every one of the brothers and sisters in the Wesley church. At the Methodist Church in Durañona God is currently giving us moments of blessings from the Holy Spirit, and we thank Him for these special gifts. Coffee with Ernie
Pastor Ernie is continuing his series "Finding Jesus in the Old Testament". This is a not to be missed study focusing on a spiritual approach to the Old Testament that needs to be watched and shared with neighbors and friends! Join us every Tuesday morning at 7:30 am on Facebook or you can watch it later as well.

"God's spirit is already inside of us. We just have to bring them to light. Christ fulfills what the Old Testament prophets talked about. Jesus is the fulfillment of the role of the Prophet."

A Prayer for Our Leaders and Volunteers

Father God,
Heavenly Father, I thank You that You are the joy of our strength. I ask that You grant joy and strength to all leaders and volunteers of the church, in Jesus’ name. Father, in the midst of challenges, help them to push through, even though their spirits feel weak and their thoughts tells them to quit. Help our leaders, volunteers and church to condition themselves to draw on Your strength to overcome the plans of the adversary. In Christ Jesus, Amen.
Nehemiah 8:10, Psalm 23:4, 2 Corinthians 12:10
In the Name of the Most High we pray,
Amen
