Hello Wesley,
|
Today I woke up and put on my GO shirt. I had a project ahead of me on this most blessed Tuesday. As I donned the shirt, I could tell my soul missed it, not the shirt but what the shirt represented. Today I was going to help someone who needed a hand. I do not feel the same way when someone comes to help me.
|
Fellowship in the church, Christian fellowship is pot luck dinners, ice cream socials, chicken BBQ’s, craft fairs. And yet it is so much more. I am glad to be a part of a church that loves its neighbors the way we do. I think maybe this fifth Sunday would be a great time to invite some neighbors to worship and experience the fellowship of this church.

“How good and pleasant it is for brothers and sisters to come together.” John says, “Dear friends, since God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.”

Express your spiritual love for someone this week, then make it a habit until it becomes a way of life. Every time I put on my GO shirt, my soul knows satisfaction is coming.

You are invited to bring any second hand rose items to the FLC Fellowship Hall on Friday during set up for the Craft Fair that begins on Saturday. There will be a designated spot for second hand items. Also, there is a need for more baked goods that can also be brought to the FLC on Friday. All proceeds will benefit various ministries, local and internationally, supported by the Women of Wesley.

The Men of Wesley will have a take out BBQ chicken dinner available Sunday, Oct. 16 from 10am - 1pm. The dinner includes 1/2 chicken, beans, & slaw for $12.00. Proceeds will benefit the Homeless Ministry. You can put in a reservation by texting the word "BBQ" to Wesley Memorial Tampa at 813-592-1788. Reservations help us project the amount of dinners needed so we don't run out but is not required.

This month’s guided-prayer gathering will be at the Church Sanctuary on

Tuesday, October 18th from 9 am to 11 am
|
for those who are able to come and lift up to the Lord the Administrative Board members and their plans, discussions and decisions to be made at their next meeting.
|
This prayer gathering is for the sole purpose of asking for God’s guidance in giving our leaders discernment as we go forward. This is a shared commitment we all make as brothers and sisters in Wesley to pray and contend for the faith and our church. If you are unable to come to the gathering this month, please, during this time, lift up your prayers at home, work, school, wherever you are!

HOPE Convention
Monday, Oct. 24 at 7pm
|
The convention will be an upbeat time for fellowship and sharing among the 24 HOPE congregations in Hillsborough County. At the Convention, there will be reports from the house meetings that have been held, voting to prioritize the community problems that have been identified for research and action, and election of HOPE officers.
|
The convention will be held at Hyde Park United Methodist Church at 500 W. Platt Street, Tampa, FL 33606.
|

All is going smoothly with Pack-a-Sack and deliveries. We are up to 135 bags per week and feel so grateful to be able to reach so many children in need. We are collecting items, so if you would like to help out, here are a few things we are in need of:
