Anyone coming to Wesley any length of time or visiting the office knows Dee Repass.
Dee has been a faithful servant to our Lord and Wesley since June 4, 1972, most recently serving in the office since 2014. Dee has decided to move to Georgia to be closer to family there, and she will be very missed.
|
|
|
|
But, before she leaves, we will host a luncheon for Dee on her last Sunday, September 27, and we will meet in the fellowship hall after service. In this crazy mixed up world, we cannot have our normal pot luck so the church will be catering most of the food. If you can help set up or clean up just come early or stay late. You can still bring something, but it will need to be prepackaged, not home-made. If you are unable to attend, you can send cards to the church.

Dee has been working Mondays and Wednesdays in the office and we would like to have volunteers fill the position. If you can help on Mondays or Wednesdays, mornings or afternoons, please call Vickey and let her know. 813-769-9157.

On Wednesday, September 9, 2020, the 12 Step Christian Living Class will restart a study of John MacArthur’s book ,Twelve Ordinary Men. We will go back to the beginning of this book so new folks will fit right in. We will meet in the church library from 6-8:30 pm (with social distancing and masks).
|
|

If you haven’t hear about Silver Saints, it is the senior ministry of our church. Most of us may have silver hair (some covered with dye!) but that doesn’t mean we are sitting around in our rocking chairs.
|
|
|
|
Love and Food talk the same language on Valentine's Day - Happiness!

|
|
Right now, our service project is supporting the Operation Shoebox ministry. We have volunteer runners who are ready to pick up your items at the store or your home and bring them to the church. We are anxiously waiting for our next in person meeting and will be sure to let you know about it. We hope that you can join us at that time. We don’t care what your age is, but certainly we'll be happy to see you!

We also do service projects in the community. The last one we completed was reading to the children at Bridges. Currently, because of social distancing, we have been unable to meet in person, but we are staying in touch through email. Operation Christmas Child
|
|
Every year we have as a church participated fully in this ministry! And nothing is going to stop our continued participation in this world wide discipleship effort!!! Franklin Graham echos our own thoughts, that the world needs this effort NOW more than ever! Shaun and her team have been collecting items and we already have shoe boxes to fill!!! But we need your help, with school supplies in the stores abound and this weekend being tax free weekend scoop up some extra goodies to do one, two or a few boxes to share!
If we can’t meet and do our normal box filling with the children, we’re planning an alternative! We’ll have a drive through drop off! So take some time, make it a family effort – you will be AMAZED at how much our wonderful children want to help other kids worldwide. KIDS HELPING KIDS!! Please let us know if you need any boxes and remember there are specifics on what CANNOT be sent. We’ve attached the below link with helpful information for your convenience. We will need to have all boxes ready by November 13th, so that’s plenty of time, right?
