Hello Wesley,
I have once again been captivated by the Christmas story. I know, it is only July, but I love Christmas. This time I noticed how much singing there is. John the Baptists father Zechariah sings, Mary sings, the angels sing. Shepherds cannot sing, so they shout. Lots of noise, harmonic noise. I imagine the cows and the sheep joined in the chorus.

I wonder what their singing was like…worshipful I imagine. There is a big difference between worship singing and concert singing or radio karaoke. Worship singing transports the soul to a heavenly choir joining together with the voices of saints long ago and angels in heaven, declaring praise and honor to the name of Jesus. Worship singing has spiritual power. Christmas was filled with worship singing.

I hope you get to sing when you watch from home. I do miss the power of a congregation singing in unison before the Lord. There is great power in the song of God’s people. The scriptures are filled with songs pf praise and worship, songs of prayer and lament, even songs of battle and victory.
|
This is a good day to sing, a good day for a song of meditation, as the Psalmist sings, “I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” Psalm 118:10-11.

The Shepherds had a great surprise when Pastor Ernie joined our last Zoom Meeting.
|
|
He provided some insights into shepherding and how important it is to stay in contact with the church family. He also mentioned that he would Zoom with anyone who needed a call. So don't be shy, set up a meeting with Pastor Ernie by yourself or with other individuals who would like to meet together with him.
