I have had the great joy of hosting my grandson Isaac for the week as we worked on building a playhouse for Ezekiel. Coincidentally, I have had a number of old photos of Isaac just come across my desk. He is 16 now. Whew! I just cannot emphasize how important it is in life to do our best to create positive memories filled with joy, laughter, and a sense of accomplishment. I am missing making memories with my church family, maybe just itching to get into something.

We will continue livestreaming services in the foreseeable future and the leadership will begin a dialogue about when we should return to in person worship. In the meanwhile, enjoy the solitude. It has been so hot outside no one really wants to go anywhere anyway. As I write, I am staring at a photo of my son Matthew off on a fishing adventure with me, barefoot, carrying his sneakers. I can tell we are about to get into something good.

So let’s consider this the calm water before the surge, right before the really good surfing waves begin. God is about to do something we would not believe if we were told.

News from Shepherding
|
As we venture into our fifth month of Shepherding, it has been a rewarding and educational experience. The Shepherds have grown and expanded to be one of many new and exciting communication arms of Wesley Memorial.
|
In searching for the meaning, we see that the dictionary refers to a Shepherd as a person who tends, guards, protects, guides, or watches over a person or a group of people. They are truly Shepherds of Jesus Christ! And we want to welcome our newest member Lyn Heinz as we continue to do God’s work.
|
|
Remember, there are numerous parts to Shepherding including the Nurturing Team which provides the Sacraments of Communion to those wishing to receive his grace.
|
|
As our Shepherds call with this opportunity for shut-ins and others, please indicate your option and desire to have Communion sets delivered. We can offer to serve communion or to just deliver sets as people feel comfortable. If a Shepherd misses your call please let Carol Dittmar know of your wishes at 813-499-7167 or [email protected]

Starting immediately, you can visit the church's website at 'https://wesleymemorial.net/' and on the Menu bar, look for and click on 'Livestream' in the website. Then, follow the instructions provided on the following page to view the online services.
