Pastor's Notes to Wesley
Hello Wesley, Happy 4th of July!

So many of us might be headed for the beach or the boat this weekend, an umbrella to block the sun, body surf a few waves, grill some burgers. So much of our joyous routines are put on hold because of the virus. We are called to remember, in all things, God works together for the good of those who love Him. Our place is to be God’s assistants. In history, God chooses people to act on his behalf. He even chooses the nation of Israel to be a light unto the nations and a blessing for all. Our place in a crazy mixed up world is to have the attitude of Jesus and simply do what we can to assist God in His purpose.

Many of us believe God chose America to be a light unto the nations and change the world for the better. Some think perhaps we have lost our way and become self oriented or self righteous. That is the path many a person and many a nation have followed when people do not listen to God. Our place as God’s assistants is to have the attitude of Jesus. From Philippians 2, I have been learning and sharing on Tuesdays, we see three helpful attitudes Jesus exhibits that we should follow.

First, stop grasping and holding things so tightly. It is stressful and worrisome.
Empty yourself of ownership and allow blessings to pass through you unto others.
Second, live as a servant to others and believe other people are important.
Third, be obedient to what God says, especially when you do not understand.

So as God’s assistants we do what we are called to do: pray, sing and praise God, give sacrificially to His kingdom, witness to the Christ.

We are blessed to be able to livestream our services as so many are watching from all over North America. We have a very skeleton staff right now and are fortunate we went to one service. We need one person for sound and one for livestream. If you can help, please call Jose Benson 813-758-3187. We never know when we will be one more short and that would be a week with no livestream and disappoint many. We need to train some folks even if it is just for an emergency.

I love being your pastor, stay safe.
Pastor Ernie

Equipped for Service

All of life is a learning experience, but are we teachable? Are we able to determine right from wrong, when both seem to be alright? I have learned by my many failures. You can choose to let the mistakes defeat you or you can rise up, with God's help, and try again. Sometimes a bit of pain might be involved, but when we have drawn closer to the Lord, the scars are a badge of honor.
As Paul continued to serve God, life did not become simpler, but God provided people who believed the message he preached, to offer him help in difficult situations. But most of all, he had God's word of being with him, wherever and whatever the situation. As Paul had appeared before the Sanhedrin to give a defense, of course there was an uproar. However, in Acts 22:11 we read these words of encouragement from the Lord: "The following night the Lord stood near Paul and said, "Take courage! As you have testified about Me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome." Looking at Paul's life before and after he met Christ, who changed his life, we see that those He chooses to use, He also equips. Any time we depend upon our own power, the struggle is more difficult. He wants to share the load with us.
Lord, we come to lay our thanks and praise at Your feet. Thank You for the blessings and love that have been so generously poured out upon us. Use us today in whatever situation we find ourselves, to glorify You in all we say and do. We love You, Lord. In Jesus' name, amen.
In His service,Fran

Hello Everyone!

We are so excited about VBS this year! With a lot of effort and quite a few changes, we've been able to come up with a new, exciting and SAFE way for your child to enjoy Vacation Bible School. And the great thing about it is - you can enjoy it with them this year! We are pre-filming all of the segments:

- Praise and Worship
- Skit
-Gym
-Story
Kid-Vid
and CRAFTS!

How? Where? What do you need to do? All Great questions. First you need to sign up...QUICKLY to ensure that your child has his/her VBS Kit. The Kit contains all the items that they will need to participate in craft - and yes they'll want to. Please note crafts are tailored to children ages 4 through 5th grade. If your child is younger be sure to watch and assist them. Plus it has a few extra fun items for them to enjoy!

Once you sign up. You are then registered to receive the link to the Show! We will be sending those out the weekend before the broadcast. But you will also (most importantly be receiving a ticket.) The ticket is for your child to pick up their VBS KIT. On July 9th and July 10th (from 6-8 pm pm) You and your child are invited to a private "tour" of our VBS SETS! They can meet the cast (not to worry we will all be observing CDC recommendations) view the sets AND PICK UP THEIR KITS in the Promiseland room! (((please let us know if you cannot pick up and we will make arrangements to ensure that the kit is delivered)))
AND then....On Monday 7/13/20 we will begin our Presentation of Rocky Railway - JESUS POWER PULLS US THROUGH!!! So perfect for our lives right now!
More questions? Reply to this e-mail. Text 813-215-6433 or call that same number.

You must act quickly to receive this offer, but wait there's more (sorry I had to throw in a bit of humor!) But, honestly we do have a limited number of kits, so don't delay! But even if we run out, you can still view the Show-so please sign up. There truly is no age limit for those who choose to watch. AND VBS is such a fantastic time of the year it'll bring back memories to Adults and older students alike. We home you enjoy the presentation and our prayer is that YOU AND YOUR CHILD LEARN AND GROW CLOSER TO CHRIST!
And remember JESUS POWER PULLS YOU THROUGH!
Your Dedicated VBS Volunteers are waiting to hear from you!

Please let us know if you have any questions. --
