Quote of the Week

Everything doesn't happen for a reason, if by this we mean evil is a part of God's plan. But God does ensure that evil will not prevail and that light will always, ultimately, overcome the darkness. If we follow God's lead, our work is to push back the darkness. - - Adam Hamilton

Pastor's Notes to Wesley
Hello Wesley,

It was great for a few of us to gather this past Sunday and we still had lots of people home worshiping with us. Livestreaming has been a great addition to our ministries. The addition of the livestream has also given us an opportunity for people to volunteer. We need help. So often we get someone in place and settle there creating a single point of failure. We simply cannot do that moving forward with too many people counting on the livestream for their worship experience. To create excellence, we are forming a media team that will include a team helping with the slides for worship, the sound, and the livestream. Each of the areas currently has leadership and needs additional help and training is available for all positions.

Six opportunities are available:
For the Traditional Worship Service - -
1 - 9:00 slides
1 - 9:00 sound
1 - 9:00 livestream
For the Contemporary Service - -
1 - 11:15 slides
1 - 11:15 sound
1 - 11:15 livestream
We are currently working on job descriptions for each position. If you have an interest in helping on the media team, contact Jose Benson at 813 758 3187.

We have some immediate needs in the media ministry. To improve livestream production, we need a joystick to smoothly control camera movement and a large-sized monitor.

If you would like to help either with donation of funds or equipment hardware, contact the AdminDesk at 813 769 9157.
Those who are sharing in interviews each Sunday have very much enjoyed the chance to share how God is using them to help friends and neighbors. Some ministries have received financial assistance to meet the needs of the homeless and unemployed. For this, all are grateful.

The services this past Sunday felt safe and everyone was careful of space. Again, all are welcome, but if you are feeling sick, stay home. If you are vulnerable, please stay home. It does feel good to have the church family beginning to return, but we are not in a hurry. All is well and God is seeing us through.

I love being your pastor,
Pastor Ernie

Seven Tips for Engaging with Live-streamed Worship

People worshipping remotely are also asking, “How do we do this? How do we worship during a live-streamed service?” Where one or two or three are gathered, how does this work? For families with young children who find it tough to turn their attention to a worship service on screen, what could help? For a household of one, how can it seem like they are not alone?
The most fundamental shift to make is moving from watching to participating—from passively observing a produced service to fully engaging as an active worshipper. Let me offer seven practical suggestions for worshipping during a live-streamed service.

If you’re like most people, you feel like not only has your life has been interrupted, it’s been turned upside down! This group will meet online during Zoom meetings and 'in person' classes that meet in the Fellowship Hall. This is the best time for the women of this community to study 'Jonah: Navigating a Life Interrupted' written by Priscilla Shirer.
