Pastor's Notes to Wesley
Hello Wesley,

This Sunday we will have two services, 9:00 and 11:15. Both will be livestreamed and we will need to follow some precautions to honor all who attend and keep one another safe. Jose Olivo will be thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting the sanctuary on Friday and he will rope off half the sanctuary. The 9:00 service will use the open area when we arrive. The back part of the sanctuary will be closed off and there will be no coffee or food served. We will need to keep distance between us and people are encouraged to wear masks; some masks will be available at the door. Offering plates will be made available at the door and we will not be collecting the offering during the service. All information will be shared on the screens and no paper bulletins yet.

Between services, we would like to disinfect common areas, like door handles and the rest rooms. If you have some disinfectant wipes, we could use them. Once the sanctuary is empty from the first service, we will move the rope from the protected area to the other side of the church and open the other half of the church for the 11:15 service.

Everyone, we should all do our best to keep a safe distance from one another. We are now livestreaming, so the front two rows are very visible to many people. Be aware of what you are doing. We would recommend everyone sit at least three rows from the front and no one near the front get up and move around.

Please use your common sense. If you know you are vulnerable, stay home and watch from the comfort of your own living room. We have come a very long way livestreaming and Wesley can be proud of the effort and the product we are producing.

I am excited about getting together and at the same time want to be cautious.
I love being your pastor,
Pastor Ernie

Mother's Day

Susanna Wesley: Mother of Methodism
Susanna Wesley
Susanna Wesley is one of the most significant mothers and women of faith in Christian history. She is also known as the Mother of Methodism because John and Charles Wesley were her sons.

John and Charles Wesley were greatly influenced by their mother’s devout faith, discipline and leadership qualities in ways we see in The United Methodist Church today. “Susanna Wesley is a major difference maker. And the differences that she made have lived on from the history of 17th and 18th century well into the present moment because of the sons that she raised,” says the Rev. Alfred T. Day III, with the United Methodist General Commission on Archives and History.

They are doing well, it’s a blessing that we have been able to stay connected. We are connecting through Zoom, calls & texts. We have had lots of fun on Zoom. We have had a talent show, scavenger hunt, homemade superhero costume and played games together.

God has opened the door for new creative ways to keep us connected. We are blessed!
