Pastor's Notes to Wesley

|
There has been a whole lot of cooking going on this week. My home smells wonderful and there is nothing that can trigger a memory like the smell of an apple pie. We have been filling our fall tree in the sanctuary with gratitude leaves and I must say I am so thankful for the memories of my childhood this time of year and for the memories, Brenda and I created for our children, and now for the work, Ashley and Ryan are putting onto future memories.

We can be deliberate in our efforts to appreciate traditions, new recipes, and the people we love. It sometimes takes work and Thanksgiving is a lot of work for some. When I was a kid my grandma did all the work. Then Brenda took over and now Ashley has the reins with Ryan working point.
|
When God's people were in trouble, they remembered the work their ancestors had put into the family. They celebrate and remember and the memories get them through some very difficult times. We do not know what the future holds, but for today, I choose to celebrate with my family. May God bless us all.

Yesterday we fed 300 homemade meals to families and individuals in our community! That is double what we served last year! What an amazing blessing! Thank you to all of you that donated Turkeys & Monetary Donations, we greatly appreciate the support! Wesley, you are a truly special congregation that exhibits God's love continually!

Come help us prepare Wesley's campus for Christmas! If you have never participated, you should highly consider joining us! This is a cherished family event at Wesley. A great way to welcome the Advent Season and get into the Christmas Spirit. Strong bodies and a jolly attitude are welcomed! Come for the Christmas music, Fellowship & Snacks!

We will no longer be having the Salvation Army Donation Drop Box here at Wesley. Unfortunately, there have been items that are too large being left outside of the Drop Box that couldn't be collected and it has become an eye sore & a difficult job for the Salvation Army workers. Below is a link for anyone that would like to schedule a pick up for donations through the Salvation Army.
