Pastor's Notes to Wesley

Hello Wesley,

We are excited to have Robert Martin with us this Sunday. Robert is a global evangelist who spoke each day at the summer camp our youth attended this past summer. He is energetic, loves the word of God and speaks the truth boldly. We have asked him to speak at both services and both will be livestreamed as well. This is a bio from his website:
Evangelist Robert Martin is a 6th generation Pentecostal. He was profoundly influenced by this unique heritage, especially through his childhood pastor and grandfather, Rev. Walter C. Caraway. These ingredients were the catalysts of Robert experiencing God’s grace and answering the call to preach at the age of fourteen.

Transitioning from a small town of less than 300 to a public school in Orlando of several thousand, he was introduced to a whole new culture of ministry. In 1998 he became a member at Faith Assembly and began to serve under Pastor Johnnie Wilson in a cutting-edge youth ministry that now sees a weekly attendance of over 1,500 students.

This synthesis of fervent Pentecostalism and innovative evangelism has shaped the DNA of Robert’s life and pulpit ministry.

Since graduating Bible college in 2006, his preaching ministry has taken him throughout the United States as well as 24 countries around the world sharing the full gospel message of Christ as Savior, Healer, Spirit Baptizer, and soon-coming King!

His singular passion is to see a fresh awakening of Pentecost in this generation.

When Robert is home, he continues to serve his church on the leadership team of Mainstream Youth Ministry and by teaching and preaching throughout the various ministries of Faith Assembly.

I love being your pastor,
Ernie

An excerpt from "Learning to Live and Love Like Jesus" by Brandon Cook

A Practical Order for Daily Prayer
A daily practice of prayer can be instrumental in anchoring us in awareness of adoption and in a life empowered to love others. Until you both understand and regularly experience the love of God and your adoption in Him, life will remain tit-for-tat, on the endless wheel of The Human Paradigm and the cycle of "trying to be good enough." But life can be so different, and so can prayer. I have found that the following order for daily prayer, when approached from a posture of openness each day, is a wonderful way to connect with the Spirit of Jesus. It is an order of prayer firmly grounded in scriptural instructions for prayer, including the Lord's Prayer.
Here is the order:
*Confess: Lord Jesus, have mercy on me, a sinner.
*Remember: You've always been faithful. You've adopted me in! (How can you be so good?!)
*Remind: There are amazing things you want to do.
*Declare: You are good.
*Request: Let your Kingdom come, let what you want to be done.
-Give me/us what we need.
-Forgive me, as I completely forgive others.
-Lead me away from temptation.
-Deliver me from evil and the evil one."
Amen.

Please be in prayer for Jensen Bennett, Marilyn Preston & Nadia Nunez Wood as they have one of their last Bonhoeffer sessions this Saturday November 20th.

We will no longer be having the Salvation Army Donation Drop Box here at Wesley. Unfortunately, there have been items that are too large being left outside of the Drop Box that couldn't be collected and it has become an eye sore & a difficult job for the Salvation Army workers. Below is a link for anyone that would like to schedule a pick up for donations through the Salvation Army.
