Pastor's Notes to Wesley

|
Each morning, one of the first things I read is a devotion from Herman Small. Today he referred to a verse pertinent to our effort to connect with everyone through 12/3/1.
|
|
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God."
|
This past Sunday we sat at tables and shared a little with one another about our faith journeys. At each table someone received the gift of being the initiator of the group. As part of that gift, we were to contact our table guests just to see how they are doing. I want to encourage you to do that. Many may be just fine right now and that is great. Consider what we are doing as a discipline, spiritually filling the lives of others with care.

"Cast all of your cares upon Him (Jesus), because He cares for you." Many times we can do that simply by talking with someone about our souls, our joys and our sorrows. Let us learn how important it is to be available to one another.

Toys, Reusable Bags, Small Plastic Cups & Bowls and Bars of Soap are needed for the Shoebox Ministry!!! Please remember everything needs to fit inside of a shoebox, so make sure that all items are small. Shoe box collection & donations will continue until November 22nd. If you have any extra shoeboxes laying around at home please consider donating them!

Wesley will be hosting a Delivery & Drive Thru Thanksgiving Community Meal! We need lots of help as always! Larry & Nadia will be heading it up again this year, with lots of support from GodGang. As always we are in need of 12lb turkeys & any gift cards or cash donations for the rest of the meal. Come help us prepare Wesley's campus for Christmas! If you have never participated, you should highly consider joining us! This is a cherished family event at Wesley. A great way to welcome the Advent Season and get into the Christmas Spirit. Strong bodies and a jolly attitude are welcomed! Come for the Christmas music, Fellowship & Snacks!

We will no longer be having the Salvation Army Donation Drop Box here at Wesley. Unfortunately, there have been items that are too large being left outside of the Drop Box that couldn't be collected and it has become an eye sore & a difficult job for the Salvation Army workers. Below is a link for anyone that would like to schedule a pick up for donations through the Salvation Army.

Your prayer requests will be recorded and added to the Prayer Wall in the church's website so that prayer warriors who visit the Prayer Wall can include your requests in their prayer lists.
