Pastor's Notes to Wesley

Hello Wesley,

In church this Sunday I will be sharing what Jesus does with the 12 He calls, and it is quite profound. Meditating on this took me to the many “groups of 12” we have at Wesley: youth ministry, children’s ministry, WOW, crafting group, Men’s group on Sunday mornings, Men’s study on Wed night, the men’s breakfast groups, CBS, the lunch gang, Friday night dinner group, Silver Saints, the UMW, Choir, Praise team, Worship planning team that just formed, a multitude of groups that meet in homes and businesses, quilters, Sunday school classes, the mourners path, and undoubtedly many more, some I do not even know. One of the things that stuck out to me about how Jesus walked with His group of 12 was that He was not afraid to challenge them to LIVE SENT. As disciples, we are to be ever looking for the next person who is ready to follow Jesus. We have been learning about Jesus’ discipleship process and calling it 12-3-1. Another way to think about it is: COME AND SEE, FOLLOW, and REMAIN.

If you are not part of a group of 12, it may be time for you to come and see. So you are invited. Accepting the invitation is not the same as coming to church. Accepting the invitation to discipleship is accepting the reality that our life needs to change and we need others to walk with us. I love hearing the stories here at Wesley of how a person got connected to a group of 12 and it changed their life. How an individual took an interest in their life at a critical time and it changed them. It is the greatest honor in life to know God used you to change someone. This is the real work of the kingdom!

I love being your pastor,
Ernie

The month of November is “Go” Month for Wesley and we invite everyone to think about those individuals that we know need a little help around the house and yard. There will be many "Go Days" throughout the month, not just one day that we will serve our community like we did last year.

Please take time to fill out the card below and send to the church office if you know of someone in need or wish to be a Team Leader.

Get your teams together and pick a date to remember “Others ARE Important”. We encourage you to invite your neighbors, coworkers and family to join you!

Evangelist Robert Martin is a 6th generation Pentecostal. He was profoundly influenced by this unique heritage, especially through his childhood pastor and grandfather, Rev. Walter C. Caraway. These ingredients were the catalysts of Robert experiencing God’s grace and answering the call to preach at the age of fourteen.

Transitioning from a small town of less than 300 to a public school in Orlando of several thousand, he was introduced to a whole new culture of ministry. In 1998 he became a member at Faith Assembly and began to serve under Pastor Johnnie Wilson in a cutting-edge youth ministry that now sees a weekly attendance of over 1,500 students.

This synthesis of fervent Pentecostalism and innovative evangelism has shaped the DNA of Robert’s life and pulpit ministry.

Since graduating Bible college in 2006, his preaching ministry has taken him throughout the United States as well as 24 countries around the world sharing the full gospel message of Christ as Savior, Healer, Spirit Baptizer, and soon-coming King!

His singular passion is to see a fresh awakening of Pentecost in this generation.

When Robert is home, he continues to serve his church on the leadership team of Mainstream Youth Ministry and by teaching and preaching throughout the various ministries of Faith Assembly.

We will no longer be having the Salvation Army Donation Drop Box here at Wesley. Unfortunately, there have been items that are too large being left outside of the Drop Box that couldn't be collected and it has become an eye sore & a difficult job for the Salvation Army workers. Below is a link for anyone that would like to schedule a pick up for donations through the Salvation Army.
