Pastor's Notes to Wesley
I have a number of great joys in my life. I still get to speak with both of my parents. I get to help Brenda through life and enjoy it when she smiles. I have Godly children who respect the Lord and know how to care for my soul. I live with my grandson Ezekiel who does everything he can to make us all laugh. Lately, he has been into a superhero kick. He gets dressed up as some superhero and runs around the house or the backyard like a crazy man. His favorite superhero this week is Flash. Yesterday he came running over in super speed mode and asked, ''Grandpa, what superpower would you rather have: spider man senses or flash speed?" Since he was dressed as Flash I, of course, said "Spiderman senses.". "Ohhh come on Grandpa. If you had Flash speed you could run really fast, even on the side of a wall. You could even run really fast on the top of the water. You could be a fast Jesus."
And that my friends is what it is like living with my 10-year-old grandson....AWESOME!
I love being your pastor,

We are up and running and deliveries are going smoothly. We have a local girl scout troop that has collected food for Pack a Sack in the past and donated girl scout cookies for our bags are coming to pack next week. I’ll share photos from our get-together.
Thank you to everyone who has donated food items, we sincerely appreciate it. With that, we will be collecting the following for the next few weeks. Items needed:
- Raisins (small boxes)
- Applesauce SQUEEZE pouches (they have fruit/veggie ones as well)
- Libby’s Veggie Cups (4 pack/4 oz.) – found in the can veggie isle
I’ll be sharing information next week on how to sign up for Amazon Smile and choose Pack A Sack as your preferred charity.
As always, we sincerely appreciate your continued support and prayers for this ministry!

We start a new annual cycle every September to identify other community concerns that must be addressed. In this Listening Process, member congregations hold House Meetings where people come together to discuss current needs.
Wesley will have two House Meetings: on Sunday, Sept. 19 at 12:30 in the overflow area (including a light lunch), and online on Monday, Sept. 20 at 7:00 PM via Zoom. We would love to have you join us and to hear your concerns!
House Meetings are most effective if limited to less than 12 participants. We want everyone to have the opportunity to share your story, as your input is very important. Therefore, we ask that you please let us know if you plan to attend by contacting the church office, or calling Carol Dittmar at 813-499-7167. If needed, additional House Meetings can be scheduled, or we can speak to you individually to register your community concerns.

The Mourners Path
Sunday September 19th - ending Saturday November 6th
Wesley Memorial Church Multi-Purpose Room, 12:30 (after 11:15 a.m. service)
Grieving is hard work. You have experienced a monumental event. We are never the same. We change forever. It is up to us how we choose to witness the life of our loved one. Join us as we take the steps towards healing our grief as we appreciate their legacy. Our loved ones have been a critical part of our lives and will remain in our hearts forever.
Mourners Path is open to anyone who has suffered through the experience of a death and is willing to meet weekly for eight weeks for 75 – 90 minutes. Participants will have the opportunity to share what they have learned as they have been on the path. We will discuss moments of despair, pain and how we have endured.
Join us as we work through the changes in our lives and find a gentle healing, and we move forward erecting standing stones to our loved one.
Register by calling: Connie Pruitt Pruitt at 813-494-4049, or contacting the Church office.

If your small group or ministry has praise stories &/or news to share, let the rest of the church know! This is how we all stay connected!
We have TV monitors located in the church for everyone to use to get the good news out about what we are doing in our church as well as in our community.

Let us pray for you: When viewing the Worship Service, share/type in your prayer requests in the Comment Field. Your prayer requests will be recorded and added to the Prayer Wall in the church's website so that prayer warriors who visit the Prayer Wall can include your requests in their prayer lists. Please Note: Prayer requests from the previous services have been posted to the Prayer Wall. Please take time to visit it and pray for these requests. Many Thanks!
