Pastor's Notes to Wesley

I am reading three books this summer: Emotionally Healthy Spirituality by Peter Scazzero, Learning to Live and Love Like Jesus by Brandon Cook, and Love Does by Bob Goff. Each week I would like to share a central thought from one of the books. From Love Does: “Living a life fully engaged and full of whimsey and the kind of things that love does is something most people plan to do, but along the way they just kind of forget. Their dreams become one of those ‘we’ll get there next time’ deferrals. The sad thing is, for many there is no ‘next time’ because passing on the chance to cross over is and overall attitude toward life rather than a single decision. People need a change of attitude, not more opportunities.”

And this is so very true. There are always so many opportunities to seize the moment that get deferred because of attitude. Too many times we think we will do something next time around. My first encouragement this summer, do it the first time around. I do believe we are created to enjoy life, to laugh and play in the garden God gave us.
|
On Sunday we are reading Paul as he talks about transformation, the renewal of our minds. God made us so that we can be recharged, renewed. Seek to enjoy the day. Do something that makes you smile or gets your adrenaline pumping. Do something that is so much fun you are completely exhausted when you are done just from laughing.

Wesley Please Welcome Sloane! Sloane has 3 children and 1 grandson. She has done this role in her previous church. Sloane is so happy to jumpstart this ministry again! She will be serving in the Nursery every Sunday at 9am! Let your friends & family know they have a place to bring their little ones on Sunday!

God is on the MOVE at Wesley! Sound & Media training has been awesome! The vision is to cross-train volunteers in Livestream, ProPresenter and Sound. We are striving for synergy across the board to help support our Sunday Worship Services run as smoothly as the Lord allows. We want to send a HUGE THANK YOU to all of the trainers & trainees! Thank you for making the time to grow, learn, share & teach. We have one more training left tonight at 6:30pm. If anyone is interested and wasn't able to make the trainings, please reach out to us at the church office at 813-769-9157. Great job crew!
