Pastor's Notes to Wesley
Sunday marks the first day of summer and the day we honor fathers. These two dates almost always coincide. I was talking with my son Matthew recently about life cycles. His tow boys are grown now. The youngest is a senior in high school and he said he knows what is coming and is doing everything he can to stop their growing up. It will soon be time for them to leave the nest and no matter what we do that is how cycles work. I told him, “I was at my best as a father when you were a little kid and have gotten progressively worse since then.” The “worse” is just my reflection on how much I miss little children in my life. I am fortunate to have a grandson living with me, otherwise I would only see my life from the place in the current cycle, which was emphasized today when I enrolled in a Medicare supplement plan. Seriously? When did that happen?
It is of most importance for us to appreciate where we are in the cycle. Why fight against the season. None of us would ignore that summer is here or think we could go back to spring. Our today is what it is and we should simply love it for that, appreciate the moment.

I love being your pastor,

Calling all Ambassadors & those interested in serving as an Ambassador to meet in the Choir room in FLC at 10:30 AM on Sunday June 20th for 30 minutes. Wesley Memorial opened its doors on May 2nd for both services at 9:00 AM and 11:15 AM and we have struggled with some coverage. After a month of getting back to normal, it's time we collectively put our heads and our hearts together. We look forward to seeing you Sunday!!

You will not want to miss this Sunday at Wesley! Exciting things are happening here. We are proud to launch a Children's Moment during the second service! This Sunday is Father's day and the lesson is going to be about how our Earthly and Heavenly Father love us! Even our Father's need to hear this!
The Children will sign in for Promiseland as usual and then we will gather as a group and head to the sanctuary! After Children's moment we will return to the Promiseland room to explore our story a bit more!. We are so excited to participate in "Big Service" and love that Parents will hear more about what we're learning!

We have come to the close of another school year and we wanted to say thank you to all our supporters, donors and prayer warriors. We truly could not do this ministry without everyone’s support and prayers. As most of you know, we were not able to start up Pack a Sack until January but we hit the ground running with 105 bags weekly for Dickinson and TNC Elementary. We were able to assemble the packing and delivery teams and get over 1750 bags delivered in total which equates to approximately 15,750 food items.
Thank you again and we will keep you posted on starting up again in the Fall…

An excerpt from the Bonhoeffer Project handbook: "What does it mean to be saved? Saved from what? And for what purpose? While God has provided an answer for us, the church also struggles to answer some of these basic questions. What we are saved from? What we are saved for? The popular understanding of salvation that..."

Wesley is so proud to welcome Cindy (pictured on right) & Myra Bennett (pictured on left) into their new life with Jesus! Dennis Bennett proudly stood behind his wife & daughter. Their family was present, Bill, Lan and Dale Bennett, along with family all the way from Iowa and Nebraska watching via Livestream! What a blessing! Let us be in prayer for our new sisters in Christ!
