Pastor's Notes to Wesley

|
My grandson Isaac turns 17 this week. It seems like just a moment ago he was born. We often lose sight of how fast things go and focus a lot of attention on the next event.
|
One of the things that has helped me over the years is to practice the eternal present.
The eternal present is a discipline of being mindful that each moment is connected to your eternity. One of the practices is to deliberately slow down the now and appreciate all that is around you. We have pictures of my grandchildren n the living room. I saw Isaac and just slowed down a bit, smiling as I looked at his photo. He is a funny young man and I slowly remembered some of the moments we have had together. For me, practicing the present almost always makes me smile.

I am grateful to God that I have so very many memories that are good. When surrounded by trouble, remember to find what is good. Last night in youth group, Ms. Nadia had the young people declare something good in their life and then reminded all of us of the very many good things we take for granted every day.
So today, practice the eternal present. Slow down. Smile.

GodGang & Family want to take a moment to thank everyone that bought flowers, donated funds and sponsored a student for camp! With God and your generous gifts we're sending 25 students to camp and 4 adults!!! God is so good!!! We can't wait to give you a follow up report about Camp Anderson!!! This ministry is so blessed!

As we come to the end of the school year, we are grateful that we were able to
|
|
continue the Pack a Sack program albeit a shortened season. We ended up packing
|
|
just over 1750 bags which equates to over 15,000 food items.
|
|
Packers and Drivers – thank you for jumping right back in when we got the word that
|
|
we were able to start delivering again.
|
|
Donations – thank you for your monetary and food donations. In ministries like PAS,
|
|
every juice box is put to good use.
|
|
Tampa Day School/Susan Lamont and Family – thank you, thank you, thank you for all
|
|
the love and support and donations from the Hawk Walk. We loved working with you
|
|
and the kids and are grateful for all the support these last few years.
|
|
I’ve had a few folks ask me about getting involved to help with packing and we look
|
forward to having you join the team once we start again for the new school year,
|
