I gave away a head of lettuce, a bag of collards and two zucchini this morning from my garden. Nearly every day Ezekiel goes out and picks what he wants to eat, blueberries have been on the favorite list lately. When I go to the neighbors and give them vegetables, at first they look at me a little cross-eyed. Now though they are grateful. This morning I exchanged phone numbers with one of my neighbors just in case one of us ever needs some help. He is a retired veteran.

I am doing what I can to create community among a few neighbors. It seems the future may struggle with community and connection. I guess I am just not willing to let it go. As I seem to sprint into the future, I am hopeful that others will seek to be deliberate about community and fellowship. I know watching from home is great and it is convenient, but there is no substitute for getting together. The writer to the Hebrews encourages the church, “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:25
|
The New Testament writers encourage the church tp persevere in several things. Today I am reminded to persevere in fellowship and I want to encourage you to do the same. As our small groups begin, remember to find your place. As our church services get back on schedule, find your home again. We go to two services May 2 and I am excited to see you again.

Operation Christmas Child visited us on Sunday and presented Wesley's Shoebox Ministry Team with a 10-Years of Service Award! We are so proud of Shaun Black, Sam & Betty Black, Jackie Robb, and the rest of the team for all of their work throughout the years to spread God's love to children all over the world.
|
|
|
|
The Young Adult Ministry would like to thank all of our Wesley Friends and Family that came out to enjoy a beautiful night of worship. The event was a huge success! If you couldn't make it stay tuned for the next one because you won't want to miss it!

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought overwhelming grief to many families. FEMA's mission is to help people before, during and after disasters. We are dedicated to helping ease some of the financial stress and burden caused by the virus.

Under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021 and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, FEMA is providing financial assistance for COVID-19 related funeral expenses incurred after January 20, 2020.

We are all beyond excited to be back to in-person meetings at Wesley! God has taught us a lot over the last year. As we adapted the ways we worshipped, studied, and served, God has worked to expand our reach beyond our walls with the help of technology. While we treasure the opportunity for fellowship more than ever, we have learned there are advantages to offering an online option to attend meetings or classes. We use a company called “Zoom” to provide a video conference option to attend even if you are out of town, you have no transportation, or the weather is unpleasant. You can use the same technology to meet securely online with family and friends that live far away. If you would like to learn about how Zoom works or practicing “Zooming,” you can meet with us on Sunday, May 2, at 1:00 PM. You may attend in person at church or online from anywhere with a phone or internet connection. Let us know if you are interested!
