Pastor's Notes to Wesley
|
|
|
What a wonderful Easter service for all. Many thanks to all who made it happen. I am ever so encouraged by all that is beginning to happen at Wesley. We are really coming to life and I love it. One of my very favorite lists Paul gives the church comes in Romans 12 and I relish verse 11. “Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.” Now there are two great words for the church: zeal and fervor. I was reminded this past year that zeal and fervor are far more likely when there is a group of us. Trying to be zealous all by yourself can be problematic. Easter reminded me just how many of us there are. God has so many people surrounding us, so many with energy, new ideas, a heart for service, so many.
|
The same is true for each of us. Many of us have been missing our fellowship, the friends we have come to love. Our small groups are starting again, mission teams are forming. Now is a great time to get connected Here are some ideas for you:

Crafts group is getting started, meeting Tuesday mornings in the fellowship hall
|
|
Men make breakfast every Sunday morning for our friends in the community at 6 am.
|
|
Children: Sundays at 11:15 and Wednesdays at 6:30
|
|
Youth: Sundays at 10 and Wednesdays at 6:00
|
|
Young Adults: Thursdays at 6:30
|
|
Women: several times throughout the week
|
Silver Saints: starting up again in May
|
And there are many more opportunities. Time to get connected.

Worship Under The Stars is just 9 days away! We are so pumped to get together as a community and worship the Lord together!!! So if you're in the Tampa Bay Area, we would LOVE to see you! Invite your friends, family, neighbors, the guy who bags your groceries, EVERYONE! Because this is going to be a night that you don't want to miss!

And don't forget that it is an outdoor event! Bring a blanket/lawn chair to sit on!

The Wesley Memorial UMC choir will be starting up again, TONIGHT, Thursday the 8th of April. We have missed singing together, praying together, and the fellowship of our weekly times together. We have also missed our service of music offering in the worship service. It's been over a year and we are ready to sing His praises together again! If you have considered joining the choir in the past, now is a good time to join us. Thursday, April 8th is open for anyone to come and just listen and take it all in to see if singing in the choir is for you. If the Lord gave you a voice to sing and/or a heart to rejoice.....then you will be in the right place! We need voices to lift up the name of the Lord! Especially any of you men who have considered joining. We will be meeting in the sanctuary instead of the choir room until further notice. This allows us to sing safely in an open space. Sing to the Lord a New Song!!
