Wesley is excited to announce a new HOPE ministry! The Hillsborough Organization for Progress and Equality (HOPE) formed over 30 years ago, and today there are 23 local, faith-based congregations on a mission to promote justice, fairness, and the dignity of people — by engaging and training members to effectively act together to achieve long term resolution to serious community problems impacting our families and neighbors.
This year, HOPE is focusing on two areas of community concern: mental health/addiction, and criminal justice reform. Carol Dittmar is seeking volunteers to serve on the HOPE team at Wesley, which will primarily involve attending virtual meetings to address these issues with experts and elected officials and to conduct other HOPE business. There will be a Zoom meeting on Monday, Dec. 14, at 7:00 PM for anyone interested in joining the team or seeking more information about HOPE. If you would like to attend, send her an email at email@example.com to receive a link to join the meeting.
