I hope and pray that you all are safe after the hurricane. I know many of you are dealing with the aftermath of the storm. Whether it be flooding, loss of electricity, roof damage, and more— I want to remind you that none of us have to walk through this alone. If you or your family need assistance, no matter how simple or great, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Your church family is here for you.
In regards to our church building.
About a foot of water ran through the building, flooding our sanctuary and throughout. As a result, we will gather for worship this Sunday in the Fellowship Hall of the Family Life Center at our usual time 10:00 AM. While it may not be our regular space, being together and worshiping God is what matters most. We’ll make room for everyone as we celebrate the resilience of our community and our shared faith.
Also, a few of us will gather at the church this afternoon to do some cleanup. If you have a shop vacuum, fans, blowers, extension cords that might help in our efforts, please drop them off at the church.
Please continue to check on your neighbors, offer help where you can, and hold one another in prayer. Even in these challenging times, God is with us and promises to be our ever-present help.
Psalm 46:1-3 encourages us with these words: "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging."

With love and prayers, Rev. Ontonio

COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING MEAL
Unfortunately , it appears we will not be able to provide our Community Thanksgiving Meal this year as we do not have a volunteer to help coordinate the event. Ideally we need someone who has some experience in the FLC kitchen. If no one steps up by the end of the month, we will need to officially cancel the event this year.
The group that originally started this ministry and those who have volunteered the last several years to head this ministry are no longer available due to health, travel or have moved out of the area. We do have several helpers who consistently show up each year to serve but still need someone who can oversee coordination of food preparation. Please contact the office if you are able and willing to help keep this ministry alive!
The above picture is from last year's event. Thank You to Heather White (far left) who coordinated the event the last few years and also to a group of helpers who have been consistent in serving the last several years. Please pray God will put on someone's heart the desire to take over leadership of this ministry!

Visit the Toys for Cuba display at the back of the sanctuary and select an ornament specifying boy or girl and age group from the skinny tree. You can bring your gift back and leave on the table or give directly to Manny and Ashley Cisneros no later than Oct. 12. We need to allow sufficient shipping time to arrive by Christmas. Keep the ornament as a reminder to pray for our sister churches in Cuba. Thank You to Renee Kincaid and the Cisneros family for overseeing this ministry!
