Kadine, Markolee, and I have been walking around our neighborhood every morning. It’s become a sacred rhythm, watching life unfold at 6:30—children crying as they resist going to school, parents rushing to get them onto the bus, pet owners gently tugging their excited dogs apart and birds busy swooping from tree to tree, filling the air with their songs. Somewhere, the smell of coffee wafts through an open kitchen window, mingling with the scent of freshly cut grass. It feels like witnessing God’s new mercies each day.
This daily walk reminds me of the truth found in Lamentations 3:22-23:
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
The book of Lamentations is hard to read. The author recounts painful days of sorrow and captivity, yet amidst the darkness, there is a remarkable shift towards hope. It's as if, in the chaos of life, there’s always a moment when we are reminded of God’s quiet faithfulness and constant renewal.
God’s love never fails, and God’s mercies are new every morning. Whether we are facing life’s challenges or simply enjoying the blessing of a morning walk, we can hold onto the assurance that God’s faithfulness is ever-present, sustaining us each day.
Reflection: How have you experienced God’s new mercies this week?
Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for this new morning. May these words remain in my heart today and always: Your steadfast love never ceases; Your mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Amen.

Hello everyone! We are starting back up with the Pack a Sack program and right away we have an opportunity to serve more children than we did last year. This year Dickinson will start with 200, TNC is 50 and Webb Middle – 30, so 280 bags per week with the anticipation that these numbers will grow throughout the school year. This is exciting but requires a lot of work and money.
With that, we are hoping to start a sponsor a child program, where you can commit to $30/month and that will help support one child in our program for one month. We are launching this program starting now in an effort to be able to financially reach these children in need. If you would like to participate, simply put PAS/Sponsorship in the memo section of your check. If you have any questions or would like more information, feel free to reach out to Jamie @ 813-967-3800 or [email protected]
Shaun Black handles the communication with schools and delivery volunteers. Shaun is in need of delivery drivers this school year. The commitment is usually about an hour or hour and half on Fridays. Pick up the bags from Wesley and deliver to the 3 schools, so it’s normally 10:30-11:30’ish. If this is of interest, feel free to chat with Shaun at church or reach out via email: [email protected]
On behalf of Shaun and I and all the PAS volunteers, we thank you for all your continued support of the Pack a Sack ministry. We are grateful for your support and prayers! Jamie Wright
