What is the difference between what I want and what I need? God makes a promise to provide for me everything I need but not everything I want. I have a tendency to want things that make me comfortable, secure, happy. God does not promise those things. I would think maybe I need food, water, shelter. Yet those are only things I need for this life, again, not what was promised. What, then, do I need?
God makes it clear He is more interested in my spiritual growth than my physical well-being. Its not that he does not care about my health, He does and so should I. He cares more about my soul. I like to eat donuts, but they are really not good for my body if I eat them every day. It would benefit my body to eat more greens. Everyone knows that by now. Yet we are the most obese society in all of history. I can only conclude we are ignoring what we know to be true and putting more emphasis on what we want than on what we need. Cancer is not the number one cause of death in America. It is diabetes from unhealthy eating habits, myself included. We all know this yet Dunkin Donuts always has a line.
If this is true of our bodies, what are we doing to our souls? It is no wonder we are morally and spiritually vacant as a society. So my word of encouragement for the day: “work out your salvation with fear and trembling.” Philippians 2:12. How is your soul working out? Just a word of encouragement. Get at it.

Great fun at our Promiseland end of the school year party! Lots of water on the front yard so it's going to look awesome soon! We even managed to get Mr. Jose to try a corn dog and Mr. Dennis stayed fairly dry this year!

HABANA HEALTH CARE
Last Saturday we visited our friends at Habana Health Care and had a Memorial Day Celebration. We also enjoyed cake and sang Happy Birthday to Jan Grover who has been a faithful volunteer since the beginning of this ministry over two years ago. Thank you to Jeff Davis for providing music and devotion as well as other volunteers Linda Nall and Kathy Newland who helped serve and assist with the art project. Volunteers are always welcome to join us. We have a good time! We visit Habana the last Saturday of each month from 2:30pm - 3:30pm. Contact Terri Davis in the church office if you are able to help. [email protected]
We are also taking time now to visit private rooms of some of our friends no longer able to join us in the activity room. We do need extra volunteers to stay in the activity room to direct the art project so we can do so. In the picture below is Rosie, one of our most joyful singers. It has been a blessing for all.

A Prayer that His Grace Abound
Dear Jesus, let Your grace abound in my heart, mind, spirit. Teach me to love as You love. Give me strength in the midst of trials and remind me to rejoice on the darkest of days knowing that the trying of my faith builds patience and perseverance. Help me to lean on You and trust in You at all times. Give me strength to release my frustration into Your hands. Restore me quickly to a sense of harmony and peace.
I pray Your Holy Spirit be active in my body and rule my heart. May Your Grace abound in my life! In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. – 1 Peter 5:8-10

Please help the church save money on paper and printing by checking in virtually on Sunday Service and receiving a bulletin. The QR code will be posted on the outside and inside of sanctuary entries, in the pews, and at the information desk. Give it a try and see if it works for you. Paper bulletins will still be available if preferred.
*Please note: When registering for check in, it is only required to input one contact - cell phone OR email (although both are preferred.) All other requests are optional and can be bypassed by simply pressing the done button.
Additional Note: The bulletin can also be found on the Church website (https://wesleymemorial.net/bulletin/) in the CONNECT drop down menu . It is updated every week by the end of Thursday for the following Sunday.
If your phone is not pulling up current bulletin via the QR code on Sunday, it is likely you need to clear your cache (search history). Refer to Mr. Google as procedure can vary according to phone you have. It is recommended you clear the cache on your phone regularly for optimal performance.
*******Even if you prefer a paper bulletin, you can still sign in online in lieu of using a connect card. That still helps the church with printing costs.*********
