Hello Wesley, We have had quite the last couple weeks at Wesley: Mother’s Day celebrations, Memorial remembrance, New Members joining, Confirmation, and 20 baptisms. These are all signs of a healthy church and I am honored to be your pastor. It is important for us to remember what makes for a great church so I thought I would make a reminder list.
Changed lives: great churches are led by people whose lives have been changed by Jesus and the church shows evidence that other lives are being transformed.
Humility: Great churches have leadership that puts other people first
Enter into trials: Great churches enter into the trials of other people.
Joy in serving: Great churches have a multitude of willing, joyful servants.
Obedient to God’s word: Great church study and obey God’s word.
Encouraging: Great churches encourage one another when times are tough.
Prayer: Great churches are praying churches. Attitude: Great churches have a positive attitude Content: Great churches are at peace, content with God’s sovereignty. Generous: Great churches have an abundance of tithers and extravagant givers. Put hinderances aside: Great churches are filled with people of different opinions, all of whom love the Lord. Community in worship: Great churches sing and pray together and come together as a community to worship.
Wesley is a great church my friends, and I am honored to be here.
I love being your pastor, Ernie

Please join us in taking group photos on the front lawn of the church this Sunday May 26 after the Worship Service. Christian Rivera will be taking professional photos. We will be taking several small group photos with the main purpose being to get a good photo we can use in the Baycrest Quarterly Newsletter. We are hoping for a good representation of young to old, from both the church and Bridges Preschool. It is possible the photos may also be used for other social media, newsletter or website purposes. Pizza and drinks will be available! Please let the church know if you are planning to be there by replying to this email, scanning the QR code or contacting the church office. Hope to see you there! We need your help!

HOPE MINISTRY
The Wesley HOPE Network Members attended the HOPE Celebration Meeting last Monday to celebrate the accomplishments of the Nehemiah Action, and to receive updates and background details of our justice ministry in Hillsborough County. The four focus areas of the ministry are criminal justice, mental health, affordable housing and flooding issues in Hillsborough County. Change takes time and the ministry is persistent in accomplishing their goals. This is a time when we are also seeking support to continue the efforts of the HOPE Ministry in Hillsborough County. A Prayer to be more like Jesus
Heavenly and Gracious Father, I come before you today with a humble and contrite heart, seeking to be more like Jesus, your Son. In him, I see the perfect example of what it means to love, serve, and follow you. He lived as a human and walked the earth for 33 years. He was flesh and blood, just like me. The Bible says He was tempted in all things just as I am, yet He was without sin.
My God, grant me the grace to endure whatever trials and hardships I face, with patience and faith, as Jesus did. Help me to trust in your plan, and to find joy, peace and happiness in all circumstances. In Jesus name I pray, Amen
Matthew 5:44-45 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

Please help the church save money on paper and printing by checking in virtually on Sunday Service and receiving a bulletin. The QR code will be posted on the outside and inside of sanctuary entries, in the pews, and at the information desk. Give it a try and see if it works for you. Paper bulletins will still be available if preferred.
*Please note: When registering for check in, it is only required to input one contact - cell phone OR email (although both are preferred.) All other requests are optional and can be bypassed by simply pressing the done button.
Additional Note: The bulletin can also be found on the Church website (https://wesleymemorial.net/bulletin/) in the CONNECT drop down menu . It is updated every week by the end of Thursday for the following Sunday.
If your phone is not pulling up current bulletin via the QR code on Sunday, it is likely you need to clear your cache (search history). Refer to Mr. Google as procedure can vary according to phone you have. It is recommended you clear the cache on your phone regularly for optimal performance.
*******Even if you prefer a paper bulletin, you can still sign in online in lieu of using a connect card. That still helps the church with printing costs.*********
