Last week we learned about the Lion of Judah and how Jesus identifies with this prophecy from Genesis. The kingly rule of God’s chosen on earth does sound appealing. Yet the prophecy makes it clear that Godly rule on earth is not peaceful. God’s ruler on earth must have an iron scepter and keep his enemies under his foot. If we have learned anything from history, Godly men rule for a very short while and inevitable an evil king arises. There seem to be more evil rulers in the Bible than Godly ones, lots more. It would be naïve of us to think anything has really changed. It is no surprise at all that the Lion of Judah has triumphed and is worthy to open the scrolls of divine justice (Revelation 5).
The shock for us comes when it is not the Lion who is seated on the throne of Justice, not the Lion who opens the scrolls of judgment against the kings of this world, not the Lion who rules in the end. Much to our surprise, it is the Lamb who opens the scrolls and every believer really needs to come to grips with what this means. The Lion is strong, royal, powerful. The Lamb is meek, innocent, weak. Yet it is the Lamb who unleashes the justice help in the scrolls. Heavenly justice rises and falls on one thing: what does the Lamb expect of us? How can we be worthy of the Lamb? We explore the answer to that next week.

Please join us in taking group photos on the front lawn of the church after the Sunday Service on May 26. Christian Rivera will be taking professional photos. We will be taking several small group photos with the main purpose being to get a good photo we can use in the Baycrest Quarterly Newsletter. We are hoping for a good representation of young to old, from both the church and Bridges Preschool. It is possible the photos may also be used for other social media, newsletter or website purposes. Pizza and drinks will be available! Please let the church know if you are planning to be there by replying to this email, scanning the QR code or contacting the church office. Hope to see you there! We need your help!

A Prayer for Peace and Unity
Prayer of St. Francis Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace; Where there is hatred, let me sow love; Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light; And where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, Grant that I may not so much seek To be consoled as to console; To be understood, as to understand; To be loved, as to love; For it is in giving that we receive, It is in pardoning that we are pardoned, And it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life. Amen.

Please help the church save money on paper and printing by checking in virtually on Sunday Service and receiving a bulletin. The QR code will be posted on the outside and inside of sanctuary entries, in the pews, and at the information desk. Give it a try and see if it works for you. Paper bulletins will still be available if preferred.
*Please note: When registering for check in, it is only required to input one contact - cell phone OR email (although both are preferred.) All other requests are optional and can be bypassed by simply pressing the done button.
Additional Note: The bulletin can also be found on the Church website (https://wesleymemorial.net/bulletin/) in the CONNECT drop down menu . It is updated every week by the end of Thursday for the following Sunday.
If your phone is not pulling up current bulletin via the QR code on Sunday, it is likely you need to clear your cache (search history). To do this, open your search app, tap the three dot bar at bottom, tap history, then clear browsing data. Make sure cookies and site data has a check to the right as well as cached images and files. Then at bottom click "clear browsing data". Refer to google as some phones may differ. It is a good idea to clear the cache on your phone occasionally to keep your phone operating at its best.
*******Even if you prefer a paper bulletin, you can still sign in online in lieu of using a connect card. That still helps the church with printing costs.*********
