Hello Wesley,
Advent season is supposed to be a season of preparation, a time to ready ourself for the savior. It would behoove us to take a spiritual approach to getting ready for Christmas.
The Amazon truck automatically stops at our house every day. We are definitely in the preparation phase for our earthly Christmas. Brenda asks for amazon wish lists from everyone and goes on a shopping blitz. In the next few days, I will have a wrapping party, just me because no one else can handle the speed. We all make our plans for the day to open gifts and have a big hurrah, laughing and celebrating the family. All in all, it is quite the ordeal, many hands in the process: list makers, gift buyers, meal planners, cooks, gift wrappers, gotta get the decorations in order, and on and on…
What will we be doing to prepare our souls this Christmas? Christmas is about the coming of our Savior, the fulfillment of God’s desire to be in intimate relationship with us. What has held humanity back all these centuries: a lack of honest repentance, an unwillingness to self-examine, confess, offer and receive forgiveness? Perhaps this Christmas it would be good to set aside some time for quiet, intentional stillness. Take one of these coming nights and make it a silent night, a listening evening, an awe-inspiring star, or a precious memory. Let God have His gift…you!

I love being your pastor,
Ernie

Meet Scharone
Scharone has been a regular participant in both the Art Activity and Singspiration events sponsored by Wesley. She is missing both of her legs along with other health issues.
Last Saturday at our recent art activity, we had a special moment. Renee Kincaid regularly has a short devotion she shares with the residents. At the end of the devotion this day, Scharone very spontaneousy belted out Silent Night with a strong voice and everyone joined in. It was a very special moment.
Since we had not yet found a song leader for the next Singspiration scheduled Sunday, Dec. 11th at 2:30, Scharone was invited to be our song leader. Although somewhat reluctant, she agreed "God Willing". I expect this to be a very special afternoon.
Anyone in the congregation is invited to join us in sharing the love of Christ. You do not have to be a good singer, just have a heart to praise God in song as most of us do in Sunday Service. If you are able to be there, please contact Terri Davis at

Many have asked what House of Agape needs for Christmas. This Christmas we are making a valiant effort to send items to Ukraine. We have heard from family members, churches, ministry organizations and friends that they are in need and our families here at the House of Mercy would like to give to them. Would you please help us? We know 50 percent of Ukraine will be without heat, water and electricity this winter….we can help. For your shopping convenience, here is a link with items you can order & have shipped to Agape House of Mercy (address below). Please consider sharing this link & email with others you know.
